vatican jet
...are about to split up after 7 years of music-creation and fun-facilitation.Have look round this page for some nostalgic trips down Vj's memory lane, or if you never saw/heard us, see what you missed out on.Here's a slide-show of our recent, penultimate gig at Leicester's Sumo, back in the city that spawned the band's birth back in '98 (i think)There's one more chance to catch us live - at The Packhorse, Leeds, on Thursday 14th December - ba a part of Vatican Jet's Last Stand!
Band Members:
Dodge (Roger Tyers) by all accounts looks and sounds like a cross between Robert Plant and Jim Morrisson. He gives the band a real focal point and has recently been contributing plenty of songs too. Having been in Leeds for 5 years and graduated in Politics from Leeds Met, he's now co-promoter of a popular band night in Hyde Park, called The Engine Room , check it out.
Dobbo (Ian Dobson) is another Leeds Met graduate who is now turning his hand to a side-project with a friend as an indie DJ under the name of The Baby Squad - look out for them soon! Dobbo is responsible for some of the poppier Vatican Jet numbers and for some shoddily fitted blinds around Leeds. Having said that, if you need any blinds he is very cheap. He's recently started adding his backing vocals to the mix, a welcome addition.
Max Flint (Matt Flint) is the strong, quiet, handsome member of the band, and the only Jet currently spoken for. If you hear any girly harmonies, that's Max, and he's also on a single-handed mission to keep a rock edge to the Vatican Jet set by contributing some heavier songs. He's another graduate, this time from Leicester Uni.
Wayne Insane is the latest addition to the band, a bruiser of a drummer with a heart of solid gold, Wayne packs a punch live both visually and musically. He's got biceps like the Guns Of Navaronne, which might come from him working in a Warehouse, or from being the lost second son of John Bonham?! anyway i'd well do 'im x
