Molotov Sandwich On Semi-Pemananent Hiatus

About Me

Molotov Sandwich has been knocking around for a couple of years, being in it's current incarnation since sometime in 2005!!!! We just want to play, that's all... songs are written through a mixture of standing around together, sitting around together, a combination of the last two, laughing, laughing some more, laughing til we're sick, then sitting around again.
The Sandwich is made up of (in no particular order):
Adam - One slice of chunkily beaten bread
Rich - Rancid pickle that'll make your eyes bleed
Jon - The mouldy inner of a coconut that'll break your jawbone
Andy - One slice of bread bassed til it crumbles
All melted together in a dirty sandwich toaster, like the ones you never use, then use loads for a day, then never use again...
If you want to book us, stop by for a chat and a brew, or just write words in no particular order in an attempt to confuse us, then e-mail us here at [email protected]

Massive thanks to eveyone for your support throughout the making of Filmwich. And a special thanks to the guys from Taping Tape Deck and 20202vision for making it happen.

May 2007 We were busy sitting down on chairs, and sometimes leaning on tables. Lying down was also a popular alternative.

July 2007 Molotov Sandwich have moved in together! Yes that's right, the whole Sandwich is under one roof, the Bear is currently crafting a den out of sofa cushions. Expect more songs and a plethora of activity.

August 2007 the 'Incendiary Eating World tour of a few places in Yorkshire and London", as it was dubbed, took in an unpreceidented 8 gigs in a month. Check out the blog up the page for vague memories of the London leg.

September 2007 The album is coming along nicely, and Jon has been scraping his massive upright violin with horse hair more and more. The bear is now in his migration period, and has wandered up to Durham, never fear however, the Sandwich continues as normal!

October 2007 An eventful month to say the least. An electric shock has put Molotov Rich out of action, however it has brought about left handed multi-tasking ("eat my carefully prepared chicken gougons Mr. 240V" Rich was quoted as saying)! As ever, the Molotov train runs over injuries like custurd over beef and ale pies (easy on the peas though).

November 2007 First of all, apologies to anyone who wanted to see us on the 23rd in Birmingham, the arm is still on the mend...we have some good news however! Bright Young Things have decided to accept the deshevilled, slightly faded and frankly unfashionable mid-twenties-going-on-120 things that are Molotov Sandwich! Look out for a recording out of the bowels of Touchwood Studios, as well as phototronic representations of the band. Come down to West Street Live, Sheffield, or the Royal Park Cellars (Leeds) on he 10th and 15th December and enjoy your sandwiches with stuffing and cranberry sauce (not guaranteed), and music (guaranteed)!

December 2007 Molotov Rich braved through his 240V disaster to complete a new (currently untitled) song and play a couple of gigs. Followed by maximum drunkenness around the birthday of one of the greatest philosophers in History.

January 2008 See January 2007. Additional, Molotov Bear returns from his northern wanderings and scheming ensues for the long-awaited album.

February 2008 BYT recording session goes very smoothly & we're all excited with the outcome! Photoshootings with Jonathan create a few laughs and impressed some passer's by in the process - you'll have to wait and see. Plus, three gigs in a week - get your asses down to your local Molotov eatery to feast your ears on the Sandwich delights.

March/April/May/June 2008 It's been a long time admittedly...very busy folks. March and April saw us riding high on BYT fumes, and continuing to make ever decreasing circles in the music industry pond. Recording of the album got under way proper, with 8 nutritious tunes being ground, pummelled, mixed, herbed, spiced, and garnished for your listening enjoyment. These are set to be ready by the end of the summer(?)!

July 2008 Molotov Sandwich have made an executive decision (shock horror). Yes, we grew 70's style moustaches, wore outragous suits and slammed our fists on tables saying "damn" alot, this lasted a whole afternoon. Subsequently, we've decided that as the Sandwich has stuff we need to do, we're going to part ways briefly. This has meant, unfortunately, that our last gig in Leeds took place on an emotional Wednesday night at Carpe Diem in Leeds. Please read the blog above for the obligary smug goodbye speech (for those that "don't do" reading, there are pictures too...). For now, thanks for reading, stopping bye, leaving comments and generally felching Molotov Sandwich when you could, we really appreciated it. Until we return, goodbyeeeeee!
