About Me

MyGen Profile GeneratorNobody likes to write about themselves, and I'm no exception.
But no one wants to read an impersonal musical resume jotted down to fill in the blanks. So let me say this.
Music is my bookends, it keeps me tight, together and tidy. I have the ups and downs, and don't we all, but I've reached a point in my life where I've realized its better to be at sea than on dry flat land. Thats where all the songs are swimming.
I'm indebted to words, always have been and forever will be. I've got unfinished books leveling out my furniture, don't we all.
And when I go to sleep I sometimes dream about swimming in the estuary near my parents house; sometimes I dream about my cat, Martha, singing like Stina Nordenstam; other times I just dream about giant shoes. But I'll try to write about all those things and everything else I (actually) get to see and do in-between.
I want to go to America, buy a three piece suit, some boots and a trilby hat from Goodwill and tour Dairy Queens.

Sounds Like: "Dazzlingly Beautiful, Fragile And Mesmeric " - Clash Magazine"One of the most gifted singers and songwriters of his generation." - Far East Far Out"If we had to describe ‘Brittle Bones’ in a single word it would probably be weightless. Or perhaps simply faultless. It is awash with a yearning, dreamlike sadness, so ephemeral that you worry if you press eject on the stereo the CD will simply dissipate to dust. Richard’s slight, limpid voice is a genuine wonder....a voice with the ability to make your heart stop in simple wonder." - Nightshift Magazine"..he's re-inventing a tired subject and making it sound exciting again...the future holds a lot of promise for Richard Walters." - Drownedinsound"Walter’s songs are vulnerable and very human...give him time and Richard Walters could be a really wonderful and affecting artist." - Disorder Magazine
"Walter's songs are haunting, they have the ability to lift you in some parts and in others to send a chill down your spine. There's no doubting this talent and it's one that is surely destined for much greater things." - initforthemoney Zine
"Turning down the volume but not the passion, Richard Walters turn of 'We Have Your Head' is the most haunting balladry you'll hear outside of Jeff Buckly or Anthony and the Johnsons. Beautifully constructed and littered with sweet harmonies against the impassioned refrain of "Who let you in?" - Roomthirteen
"Blown away... Speaking of love and comfort, tenderness and sadness, this is a ball of emotion pitched straight at the heart" - Decode Magazine
"Pilotlights is an EP that freezes you with its haunting, delicate songs...Ethereal and ghostly, these are lullabies for the disturbed – comforting yet strangely unsettling in their broken, broken beauty" - Backlash Magazine"..somehow manages to be both arresting and good enough to feel like you can float away to it." - dieshellsuit.co.uk
"...simple, stunning twilit songs of sadness, some autobiographical, others simply stories... Not just an EP, ..Pilotlights’ is a genuine treasure." - Nightshift Magazine
