A miracle was born when God touched the hands of a small baby boy in Dallas, Texas. The young boy would later become a man and impact the world through his musical expressions of percussion and song. At just the tender age of eleven, Cedric Goodman was called forth to fulfill his destiny when he was asked to be the lead drummer on a 10-city Gospel Tour. Now, Cedric continues to touch the hearts and souls of thousands with his anointed rhythms and beats.
Although his roots were in Texas, he traveled and performed throughout the world from Chicago, IL to Paris, France, achieving a wide array of experience as an internationally accomplished percussionist.
During his many years of traveling and performing as a professional musician, Cedric worked with numerous artists on a variety of musical expressions ranging from R&B to Blues. While doing such, he even performed with artists such as accomplished saxophonist, Les Hamilton. He also accompanied other greats including Stanley Clark, Lenny Williams, Bobby Womack, The Mighty Clouds of Joy and The Gospel Key Notes. Mr. Goodman also toured with artists such as Millie Jackson, Bobby Bland, Johnny Taylor, Phil Perry and Jessie Powell.
In short, Cedric aspires to be nothing less than the musical inspirationalist he was ordained to be and to universally spread his musical gifts of love and life.

With a combination of soul, funk, blues, jazz, and even a splash of rock, CHANT has established themselves as the ambassadors of Eclectic Soul - a soulful new genre that sets no rules and has no boundaries. This trio mixes intelligently crafted songs with exceptional musicianship to create a style that defies catagories and defines originality. The group is led by Chant Duplantier, a South Louisiana born multi-instrumentalist who has spent countless years honing his skills as a performer and songwriter. The band is rounded out by a rhythm section one has to see to believe. Jerry Smith, Jr. (6-string bass/vocals) has spent his life playing church stages to concert halls working to develop his unique style that breathes new life into each song night after night. The final piece of the trinity is Cedric Goodman (drums/vocals). After years of playing around the world with artists to numerous to mention, Cedric has settled into a project he's proud to call home.
Simply put...either you've been blown away by them - or you're about to be. Any band can say it, but CHANT proves it. With their roots in the past and a sound for the future, CHANT truly is "the history of things to come".
