I was born and raised in Oklahoma City. My passion for music developed early on. The drums were my first choice and got my first set at the age of 8 when I talked my sister into trading her kawasaki drumset for my kawasaki guitar. I didn't start to take formal lessons until the age of 12. At this time I started to gig with local blues and rock bands. I started to study jazz around this time, but i didn't play my first jazz gig until later. l decided to pack up and move to attend the University of North Texas. I had the pleasure of performing and recording with some great groups, and had the distinct pleasure of studying with Ed Soph.
Through my years as a professional musician, I have been fortunate to play with some great people. Some of these people include but not limited to: Adam Rogers, Eddie Gomez, Dave Pietro, Bernard Wright, Phil Woods, Robert "Sput" Searwright, Cornell Dupree, Bobby Sparks, Brian Mulholland, Stefan Karlsson, Shaun Martin, Keith Anderson and Adam Thomas. I am married to Akie Takada who is the most wonderful person!!! But other than that I like chillin and honing my cooking skills. Life is good!!!!
