About Me

I was born in NYC on Jan. 11, 1842. I received my M.D. from Harvard in 1869. By 1880, I was offerd the position of Assistant Professor of Philosophy at Harvard after having taught Psych. and Phil. classes for four years. I'm the father of modern American psychology and the champion of Pragmatism. As a side note, I helped my dear, unfortunate friend, Charles Sanders Peirce, out by offering him the opportunity to speak at the Harvard Lecture Series. He, sadly, died poor and underappreciated. I, on the other hand, ran with his initial idea of 'pragmatism' (a term I coined) and quickly became an international name sake. Thanks, Peirce!
