Lisa Jayne

Love, life ... and everything inbetween

About Me

The tall, curvaceous body, the energy that envelopes a room, the style, the attitude, the glamour, the voice, ...
...this is Lisa Jayne, she is every inch the superstar.
With her clear, distinct, sound riding breathlessly over funky soul grooves, Lisa Jayne has all the makings of a new diva.
Born in England, Lisa Jayne's musical journey began at age 12 when she arrived at her all-girls boarding school near London. It was here Lisa discovered her one true love, her constant in the years ahead - her voice. Lisa Jayne devoted herself to her classical training, singing in every concert, musical and recital with dreams of becoming the ultimate diva. Leaving school, Lisa Jayne arrived in London to continue her studies. It was here she met Simon Collier and Omar F Okai of the award winning Okai Collier Company and immediately began performing musical theatre roles for the company. She would have stayed this course, had it not been for a chance visit to New York. Entranced by the electric city, it was here that Lisa Jayne made a rather dramatic move away from her classical roots to pursue her dreams in New York. While auditioning on Broadway, Lisa Jayne began singing backgrounds for various hip hop producers in Jamaica, Queens and modeling for two major agencies. During this time she also held down a demanding day gig in the cutthroat world of television for the executive vice-president of NBC.
Exhausted from the daily grind of corporate America, and feeling the need to develop as an artist, Lisa Jayne sought out a new mentor and vocal coach - Marlon Saunders - a soul artist who has garnered much success in the UK. Immediately hitting it off with Marlon, Lisa Jayne discovered a new musical truth and freedom in her voice. She developed a new confidence that made her want to sing for millions, only this time it would not be the arias of the great classical composers - it would be her own songs.
Upon Marlons advice, Lisa Jayne began to write with legendary dance producer, Shawn Lucas. Currently living between London and New York, she is recording her upcoming CD, with plans to release the first single in Spring of 2008.
So the next time you hear a funky soul groove with a sexy vocal giving attitude, it just may be that new diva ... Lisa Jayne.

Sounds Like: "All men dream, but not equally. Those who dream by night in the dusty recesses of their minds wake in the day to find that it was vanity: but the dreamers of the day are dangerous men, for they may act their dream with open eyes, to make it possible."
