About Me

The Bush Dog (Speothos venaticus) is a canid found in Central and South America, including Panama, Venezuela, Bolivia, Peru (West of the Andes), Ecuador, the Guianas, Paraguay, northeast Argentina (Misiones province), and Brazil (from the Amazon rainforest to the state of Amazonas). In spite of its extensive range, it is very rare; it was originally discovered as fossils in Brazilian caves and thought to be extinct. It is the only species in its genus, Speothos.First there was William. William played the piano on his own all day and all night. Then Alex appeared with a guitar and a smile. They played and sang together for a while, then decided to try playing in front of other people.
That was good for a while, but soon they realised they needed more people to play things. They found someone called Jeff after a while. He had a bass guitar and wanted a band to play with.
To be continued... [more music up soon]

Our first practise as a full band was last night, and it went pretty well, I thought. We did three songs pretty thoroughly (Strange, This Modern World and Everybody Knows), had a bit of a go at a...

solo gig

Chef James asked me to play a support set at the Zoo Bar tonight, and so I did. I rang Alex to ask him whether he'd like to join in, but I couldn't get hold of him. I did a rubbish set, mostly covers....

it's the same as the old one, only remixed slightly. you can actually hear the backing vocals now. they're somewhat off-key though (as with all of our vocals).

gig 3

Well, gig number three was last week. It was okay. Another one as an acoustic duo. We did two new songs (This Modern World and Everybody Knows), and had no major problems aside from me messing up some...

time and drummers

So, at the moment we've got not one, not two, but three people who've said they might play drums with us. We really must corner one of them and make them actually practise with us. But not next week, ...

new song uploaded (Smart Casual Racists - piano version)

It doesn't really count as a band recording, it's just me and my piano giving some vague sort of idea of how the song's supposed to go. It'll sound a lot better with guitars and drums and stuff on, bu...

gigs 1 and 2

So... we had our first two gigs this week, and they could've gone a lot worse. The first was on Wednesday - a gig at Blackbrook Social Club organised by "The Silver Bullet Models". Once everyone had f...
