About Me

The association of life for the disabled (ALD) announced in a recent statement that the glamorisation of oversized glasses by the Deirdres has opened a new chapter for the dysfunctional.
They also have a brand NEW single out on the 17th of November 2008. The deirdres are eggstatic to be the 20th release of super duper record label Cherryade.
Milk Is Politics/Sir Michael Of Aspel will be released on snowy white vinyl and will be available through all good record shops (distributed by Cargo) and on iTunes, and it is available to pre-order at www.cherryademusic.co.uk.

With all our thanks, tears and spoons to Ryan Owen and Alex Skinner for being just swell..
Here's the video of said single..
if YOU want to book the deirdres, feel free to contact us via [email protected]. However please be warned that the deirdres are now in hibernation due to members in other hemspherical regions! See you in March. Maybe. x

The deirdres say yes to poor harmonies and communal clapping
Sounds Like: "I wouldn't put it in my 'Desert Island Discs', but its alright."
Michael Aspel of 'The Antiques Roadshow'

"I don't mean to be crude, but are you all shagging?"
Christine Ponsford - Area Manager of Sportsworld

"A seven piece from Derby who claim to specialise in "poor harmonies and communal clappiing", The Deirdres mess around with glockenspiels, tamborines, kazoos, violins, and something called a zube in the pursuit of a good time. Imagine the best bits of Architecture In Helsinki, The Hidden Cameras and every band you've clapped along to like an over-excited five year old. If they're half as fun as their demos, we're in for a treat."
