Joao Frade (Trio)

Joao Frade was born on April 1983 , he..s the only musician in the family . Due to the friendship of his father and professor Hermenegildo Guerreiro , Joao who always had a musical vein , playing with plastic instruments , starts getting accordion lessons at the age of 8. Soon he became winning all the contests in Portugal winning more than twenty competitions for accordion and General Arts contests , like the National and Iberic accordion championships , the Alto Minho Competition twice , and others... . Joao performed to all the portuguese television channels in many Tv shows , solo , or with different projects , and also played for international Tvs . At the age of 15 years old he starts getting interested by diferent kinds of music , like pop music , jazz , latin jazz , world music , punk , funk , rock , and he tries to play all this different styles , the improvisations would be the next step , and at the age of 17 , joao plays for the first time in a jazz club , and this was the beginning for the performances with different groups . On august 2002 , joao arrives in France in the C.N.I.M.A , to prepare the world most important competitions for accordion one month before , and due to the excelent previous job that he did with the professor Hermenegildo Guerreiro , and the new kind of lessons he took from the great teacher Jacques Mornet and his Team , in two months he won the World Trophy , the Coupe Mondiale , the Castelfidardo Competition , and the French competition "LE TEIL" . After this joao starts a new stage , he searchs new ideas and new musical ways , so in a winter Jam session he met Tuniko Goulart , and than Giovani Goulart and they start playing together , mixing Portuguese with Brasilian music , with a taste of jazz , and Fusion . Joao took part of many workshops with American jazz musicians , and now he makes his musical research alone . He gave many concerts and played in jazz festivals ,and world music festivals around the world in countries like : USA , France , Spain , Andorra ,Russia , Finland , Italy etc... , and played side by side with great musicians like Flora Purim , Airto Moreira , Edu miranda , Paulinho lemos , Antonio Mesa , Daniel Tato , stanley jordan , Hiromi uehara group , Munir hossn among others....! Now , joao is waiting for new musical challenges , in other styles , he wants to play many different things , and bring out his influences , he also works as teacher , composer , arranger , and studio musician . His nowdays projects are , Joao Frade Trio , Odeonconexion Duo , L-D-J Project , Al-Bravia , Solo project , and more projects are coming soon . All these capacities make of joao a respected musician in Portugal and around the World , and he hopes to answer to the public we have today changing each concert , so we always have a very special concert from this Musician who says that the most beatifull thing in the world is the MUSIC!------------------------------------------------------ -----------------------------------
