About Me

The warrior is brave enough to look at the shadows of his soul and tries to illuminate them with the light of pardon. - Paulo Coelho

My vocation is writing technical and scientific end-user documents for water testing and treatment. I teach and practice yoga, meditation, and Reiki.

I am a vegetarian, have been for 18 years now. I can't help it, I have to be. A beautiful moment on a country road when I became aware of how much that Jersey cow was aware of me made it impossible for me to eat other animals forever after. It's better for my body, but it is also more environmentally sound. Of course, the world would be better off without large corporate farms in general. They aren't nice to the plants and soil either.

I believe in the power of gratitude and unconditional love. I believe in living in the present moment as much as possible, although I frequently fail.

I believe we are all connected.

I love working sheep with my Belgian sheepdogs. (Nobody gets hurt, except me, occasionally.)

I love making my own soap and herbal medicines.

I play drums from around the world and American Indian flutes. I read and I learn. I meditate. I pray.

Secrets of Mary Magdalene - The Untold Story of History's Most Misunderstood Woman (Edited by Dan Burstein and Arne J. de Keijzer)

This is a collection of essays and interviews about who Mary Magdalene really might have been. Reviews the church doctrine throughout its history, the mentions in the canonical gospels, and the image presented in the gnostic gospels. Fascinating!

Recommended Reads

Highly recommended! The Divine Matrix (Gregg Braden)

Highly recommended! Between the Bridge and the River (Craig Ferguson) I don't know if he set out to do this, but Mr. Ferguson has created a piercing, insightful and metaphysically transformational masterpiece.

The Wonderful Flight to the Mushroom Planet (Eleanor Cameron) Wonderful sci-fi fantasy for kids "of all ages".

Highly Recommended! Food for Life (Neal Barnard, M. D.) If the horrific treatment of factory-farm raised animals is not enough of a reason for you to consider being vegetarian, Dr. Barnard can give you a plethora of personal health reasons.

A Brief History of Time (Stephen Hawking, I have *too* read it! :p)

Faster Than the Speed of Light: The Story of a Scientific Speculation (Joao Magueijo, fascinating and FUNNY)

The Hidden Messages in Water (Masaru Emoto, we really are what we think!)

A Return to Love (Marianne Williamson)

Meeting Jesus Again for the First Time (Marcus Borg, who really *gets* Yeshua)

The Power of Now (Eckhart Tolle)

The Secret of Shambala (James Redfield)

Kinship with All Life (J. Allen Boone)

The Practice of the Presence of God (Brother Lawrence)

God is a Verb: Kabbalah and the Practice of Mystical Judaism (Rabbi David Cooper)
