Nikita Puppy

Hello! My name is Nikita--yes, I am a dog. My mom took a cat to get fixed at the A.W.A. and she brought me home with her. My mom didn't intend to get another dog, but when she saw me, it was love at first sight. Sheeba was old when they got me, but she has since passed away. Sheeba taught me a lot about living here.Me and Sheeba, my mentor...Before I arrived at the A.W.A., my dog mom, brothers and sisters, and I were left outside in the freezing cold. There were seven in the litter, but only 3 of us survived the freezing weather. The tip of my tail got frost bite, so my tail is much shorter than it would have been. My new family promised me that I would never be cold again, and they have kept their promise. (I get to sleep on my kids' beds here--whoo-hooo!)Dylan and I fell asleep together on the floorI have two great kids, KC and Dylan. They call me their sister. I think I'm one of the kids, anyway. My one kid, Dylan, takes me for walks all the time. I get so excited when he gets my leash and collar out! My other kid, KC, is what is called Autistic. People seem to think he's different, but he loves me and I love him and he is my best friend, so I see no difference between him and other kids. He sometimes has melt-downs, or "autistic moments," and can't stop crying. So, I go to him and lick him and I make him laugh and play with me. The next thing I know, he's not crying anymore. My mom always tells me, "I don't know what I'd do without you, Nikita." I love my family, so I am more than happy to help!KC and I playingMy mom and I dressed up for Halloween--what fun!
