Influences: Too Many To Mention!!
Sounds Like: Based in Oxford Lagrima have created a collection of intriguing songs, which blend mysterious, dark lyrics with soft acoustic melodies...Rozz has the most beautiful voice, strong and yet soft and lyrical. She easily changes from girly to a deep and raspy voice, even ranging to an operatic style... The vocals are extremely vivid, almost like story telling ... Gray's guitar sounds range greatly from quiet acoustic -soft and twangy, to rock and even to folk with a touch of flamenco in places... Each song on the album is engaging. This band are worth watching live as you really get a sense of what the songs are about, as each one tells an amazingly interesting story. My favourite tracks are "Women" and "Messiah" which sounds mysterious and yet haunting at the same time. The more up beat "Poppa G" was also chosen to be included on the Beard Museum compilation album. With just a guitar and an amazing voice they have managed to produce a very beautiful and unique album of 13 fairy-tale songs each one equally as good as the next. A beautiful albumOpenview CD review - www.openviewonline.com
