About Me

I'm just a regular guy with a great life! I am married to the most wonderful woman in the world and we have a wonderful daughter who is a junior in high school is an awesome volleyball player. I live in the fantastic town of Pensacola, Florida which is right on the Gulf Coast. We have the best beaches in the world. White sand and clear blue-green water. Pensacola is also home to the U.S. Navy Blue Angels Flight Team. On Sunday mornings, you can usually find me and my friends enjoying Sunday Brunch at Flounders restaurant on Pensacola Beach. Come join us if you are ever in town. We are easy to find. Just look for the loud obnoxious people at one of the larger tables. We're usually wearing tropical shirts and swimsuits and have wives who are looking embarrassed and telling us to stop whatever it is we're doing. I'm a runner and a triathlete. I ran my first marathon in February of 2006 with a time of 4:45, and completed my first triathlon on October 7, 2006 with a time of 1:27. It was great and I had a wonderful time doing it. There are a few pics from the triathlon in the slideshow below. Looks fun, doesn't it? My next goal is to do an Olympic distance triathlon. On February 18th I completed my second Marathon with a time of 4:42. I also like to scuba dive and I have almost 50 dives under my dive belt. I learned to dive in Rocky Point, Mexico and I've gone diving in Catalina, Cancun, Cozumel, and, of course, Florida. In short, happiness to me is being in or on the water. If you share any of my interests, or if we share the same friends, I'd love to hear from you.
You have been marked on my profile map!

My Interests

My wife, my daughter, my extended family, friends, scuba diving, running, cycling, reading, history, religion and mythology, science, music, boating, playing on the water on my wave runner, traveling, food, learning the electric and acoustic guitar, learning French, and relaxing in the hot tub.

I'd like to meet:

Interesting people! People who love reading. People who can talk about politics or religion and not get offended by a different point of view. I'd like to talk to anyone who can explain quantum physics in a way that makes sense. I'd like to meet people in the Pensacola area who are scuba divers, runners, or triathletes.Myspace Backgrounds

Music:

Mostly I'm a fan of 80's and 90's music. However, the music I like depends on the situation I'm in. In New Orleans it's Jazz, on Tuesday nights at the beach it's blues, in night clubs it's techno. Classical is good for reading and thinking. (Mozart rocks!) Polka is great at weddings. The Beatles are great anytime. Locally, my favorite band is Miles from Coltrane. You can find them on MySpace or at their website www.milesfromcoltrane.com. If you live in Pensacola or are thinking of visiting, try to catch one of their shows. Tim Spencer is another favorite of mine. He plays every Sunday at Flounders from 11 AM till whenever it is he stops. I like a pretty wide variety. Pretty much anything but rap. Then again, when I'm breaking into a jewelry store to get some 'bling' to enhance my 'grill', rap is just fine.

Movies:

I like movies where things get blown up, and there are car chases, and guns, and spies, and femme fatales, and space ships, and cool guy stuff. Just about anything by Quintin Tarantino will do nicely. I also like comedies. One of my favorites is "So, I Married an Axe Murderer" with Mike Myers. Horror movies pretty much suck these days, but Evil Dead II and Army of Darkness rock! I could watch those over and over.

Television:

SG1, Battlestar Galactica, House, Deadwood, Dr. Who (The new version on Sci-Fi), The Daily Show, Rome, Myth Busters. The History Channel, Discovery Channel, The Learning Channel. Everything else is crap. Want to torture me? Make me watch ANY reality TV show. American Idol, Survivor, Top Model. I promise I'll talk, just please make it stop!!! Also, I would like to ban all "Do it Yourself" home-improvement TV shows. It is NEVER as easy as they show it on TV, you will NEVER stay within budget, and you will be dropping F-bombs sometime during the process.

Books:

Anything by Christopher Moore, Tim Dorsey, Douglas Adams, Brad Listi, Barry Eisler, Troy Cook, and Carl Hiaasen. Pretty much anything by Anne Rice, A. N. Roquelaure, and Tom Clancy. I love reading in general and will read just about anything available. Out of desperation I will read the back of a cereal box.

Heroes:

Christopher Moore, Tim Dorsey and his fictional character Serge A. Storms, Retired Vice Admiral Jack Fetterman, Lt. Cmdr. Kevin Davis of the U.S. Navy Blue Angels, Jacques Cousteau, Dr. Stephen Hendrix, Jon Stewart, Steve Irwin (Crikey!), Albert Einstein, Stephen Hawking, Gandhi, Jesus, the Buddha, mom and dad, Shelby, and anyone and everyone who came to Pensacola to help after hurricane Ivan hit. However, my biggest hero is my wife for pursuing her dreams and making our life better in the process.

Why you should vote for Obama
