At Last, a My Space of His Own

About Me

Hi, I'm Christopher Moore, the author of almost ten novels, including Lamb and A Dirty Job.I'm just getting started here, and since I'm finishing up my tenth book right now, I don't have much time to work on my space, but too many of my readers were asking if I had one, so now I do.I'll fix this place up when I get some time. Here's my official web page www.chrismoore.comHere's the message board. http://bbs.chrismoore.com/index.php You'll find another blog at the top.By request, here's a link where you can buy swell Author Guy stuff. All profits go to MS research. http://www.cafepress.com/shopfruitbatNow, fly my monkeys, tear the stuffing out of them and bring me the ruby slippers and whatnot!

My Interests

I like big books and I like to read And I really must concede When I'm all up in those pages It makes me feel outrageous I LIKE BIG BOOKS!Oh, and I also enjoy photography and art.

I'd like to meet:

Readers! Readers! Readers! And funny people. And people who like funny people. That's all I'm sayin'.

Music:

I listen almost exclusively to acid jazz, ambient groove, and chilly rhythms when I'm writing. I like Baby Mammoth, Afterlife, Zero 7, and Audio Lotion. When I'm not writing I listen to all sorts of stuff, from AC/DC, to Foo Fighters, to Goo Goo Dolls, to Gershwin, to John Prine and John Hiatt

Movies:

I like cheesy horror movies and big splashy movies where stuff gets blown up. I also like movies where the dialogue is actually carefully crafted and almost play-like. Whit Stillman's Barcelona comes to mind. My all time favorite movie is Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid.

Television:

Monk, Deadwood, The Daily Show, Entourage, Grey's Anatomy, Desperate Housewives -- most of the shows I like get cancelled.

Books:

I like funny books above all, but there just aren't that many truely funny books. Lately I've been reading Mil Millington and Bill Bryson for humor, John Connelly for suspense, and Haruki Murakami because he's craaaaaaaaaazy. My favorite book is Cannery Row by John Steinbeck.

Heroes:

Mark Twain, Kurt Vonnegut, Tom Robbins, Douglas Adams, John Steinbeck, and big Bill Shakespeare.
