Peter Lamb, band leader, saxophonist, previous member of Countdown Quartet ~ New Orleans old style R&B Jazz Raleigh based group with three releases on Yep Roc Records, the self-titled debut (1999), Party With! (2000), and Sadlack's Stomp (2002) brought great reviews (Billboard, CMJ Music Journal, Jazz Times, Modern Drummer) and CDQ originals were used on MTV’s The Real World.
Mark Wells, pianist, BA in Psychology, Mark’s Organ Trio, Organphonics, released its self titled debut in 2000. Mark was a musical director for jazz vocalist Harmony Kenney’s 2003 release “This Time Its Loveâ€. Mark also was a founding member of Sankofa, an influential hip-hop jazz group that released two albums & opened for Outkast & Busta Rhymes. Mark’s latest solo album was released in the Spring of 2006 entitled “Pretty Girls Run Faster†on Upshot Records.
Steve Grothmann, bassist, based in Florida, New Orleans & Raleigh a co-founder of The Countdown Quartet in 1998. Steve has appeared on ten nationally released recordings and toured nationally.
Albert Strong, trumpet, composer/arranger, and bandleader, is a native of Washington, DC, and alumni of the esteemed Duke Ellington School for The Performing Arts. Performed at Jazz Festivals from Montreax to North Sea, and Lima Peru Jazz Festival.
