About Me

Psylence are a UK metal band devoid of any genre cliche, who look to make British Metal music and be proud of it, regardless of pressure from the scene or attention grabbing press. Formed in Nottingham in 2004 they have gone from strength to strength since birth.
Psylence released their Debut album on October 24th 2005 on the independant record label Casket/ Copro, having sold albums all over the world 2006 saw Psylence complete their first full UK tour alongside label bands Atomic ants and Figure of six, which also included a headline show at the world famous London Underworld club, as well as playing over 50 shows up and down the UK with bands such as Panic cell, I-def-I, Devil sold his soul, Hed Pe, and GU Medicine.
2007 brings forth the most exciting year to date in the life of PSYLENCE, with new tracks written and ready for recording it won't be long until they see light of day on CD and a new release at the end of the year, to coincide with more UK tours, and European shows. "

"What it's all about? Well, that was a thing at first rather difficult for me to define, since the band's sound is a bit diverse and thus hard to pin down. Starting with the first songs, you might doubt about putting the band in either the Progressive Hardcore genre, or into Melodic Mathcore. The truth is somewhere in the middle! Repeated (and as such becoming melodic) riffs with at moments a certain technicality, occasional down-tuning, the wacky scratching or sampler additions...they all make Psylence into one of the freshest and finest bands I've heard in the last couple of years, with a sound that stands up firmly and proudly next to the UK bands in the genre that already have a name for themselves, like Strapping Young Lad, Lost Prophets, and more of that ilk! The many mood changes of agression against calmer moments, the alternating vocals (in one song more melodic, in the other rougher and dual) and overall sound, combined with the couple of songs that have very apparent samples, give the album a diversity that is simply uncanny, and keeps the listener riveted to the album from start to finish!- 99/100"

"Psylence offer up the meatiest metallic offering of the night, punchy as fuck songs, thick strong riffs, imbued with meoldy and even a smattering of wicked solo's"
rock beast :
"‘Pay On Demand’ gets things started with a quite intro of guitars before the balls out metal/rock kicks in. Punishing drums with roaring riffs at times almost drown out the vocals before they come pouring in over the top for the chorus but off this track alone you can tell Psylence are more than just your ordinary metal band.
The combination of melody and mayhem works to the maximum with growling vocals accompanied by more melodic, majestic vocals as the guitars wail above showcasing the bands musical abilities."
subba culture:
"album does just get better and better and considering that right from track one it is incredible makes this pretty special. This album is so worthy of any praise thrown its way. It is an example of how a top of the range metal album should be. Changing pace and direction without warning it is thoughtful and yet brutal, metal but rock and pure dumb aggression teamed equally with intelligence and thought. Just listen through it, hear the best of metal influences like Machine Head, Slayer and Hatebreed, and then just think - this is British. We have here an album that rivals the top American acts and that is all too rare a thing."

Sounds Like:

heavy, drop tuned, catchy riffs, aggresive vocal, with melody, i guess you'd class us as a metal band, had references to machinehead, fear factory thrown around us?? judge for yourselves, we wouldn't like to place ourselves in a genre thats the medias job, and we wouldn't want them having nothing to do
