Mickey Newbury Was one of America's Finist songwriters for about 40 years. I had to say a little something about him. He passed away in September of 2002. I cried when I heard the news. I hate to think he is gone. It was like there was only one Diamond ever in history. And someone comes to you one day and says. The diamond the one and only ever. Has just died. That is how I felt when I heard that "Mickey Newbury" Had died. He was such a prolific and wonderful writer. I felt he was a friend but I never had the chance to meet him. But from the long list of Who's who that knew him loved him, and sang his songs. The list of stars is nothing short of amazing.
