There was a time ... and not that long ago, that the masses would converge on hotels and clubs five days a week to see their favourite bands.Bands like Midnight Oil ... The Angels ...Cold Chisel ...Dragon ... Icehouse ... Matt Finish ...Australian Crawl ... Rose Tattoo ... Mi Sex ... INXS ... and many many others. These bands followed on from the Bands from the sixties and early seventies, forging a path for us to follow.Sadly by the Mid Eightes the world had gotten a whole lot bigger and "OUR" Music Industry had a gotten a whole lot smaller.I for one still believe we have the killer bands out there.ROCK FOR SOUP is a great opportunity for us all to stand up thru MUSIC and give help to the ones who help others.Just like the old days when there was a great gig to see .... "THE MASSES WILL CONVERGE" .... and turn this into a Celebration for everyone to enjoy.I hope everyone possible supports this great night, and we are more than stoked to be a part of it.bear
ELECTRIC MARY
THE LEGS are an infusion of drawn out psychodelic riffs, sleazy bass lines and pounding drums, coming together in an explosion of sound best served loud!! Quickly gaining a reputation for delivering highly energetic live shows and raw instinctive songs, The Legs will stay with you long after leaving the sweat and beer of the pub. Comprising of members with different musical backgrounds, the guys have moulded their unique styles of playing to create a riff driven fusion of bluesy, sexy rock n roll. The Legs have played along side The Mess Hall, Dan Kelly, The Fumes and The Cops.
Every once in a while a band comes along that embodies the spirit of Australian rock music. BLACK GUNS is one of those bands. Blistering loud guitars, gutsy riffs and a thundering rhythm section thrashing out pure fist pumping tunes in a hail of sweat soaked energy. They're not here to re-invent the wheel or pose for your camera; they're here to continue the irrepressible musical force that is rock'n'roll.
MASTER CARDINAL are a three piece playing a unique brand of rock'n roll and they're taking the local scene by storm. Their original, indefinable style pays homage to the greats then embarks on an epic rock journey for the new millennium. Every time they take to the stage a show like no other is performed. Word travels fast in Melbourne and the boys are making the competition nervous. Master Cardinal are the leading light to your ultimate rock experience.
THE HELLO MORNING is from Melbourne. It's a tired, sleeping outfit that has a somewhat rotating door of members. Although at present has a 5 piece line up. They are: Steven Veale - singing & strumming Matthew Smith - singing & strumming & shaking David Oxley .. Bass Joey Cope- Keys Manwell Bourakis - Lending a helping hand on drums. The sound is a laid back blend of country and rock, think of a love child of The Eagles and the Beach Boys and your on the right track.
Take two parts glamour, one part vintage styling, add a dash of saucy humour and you've got HI BALL BURLESQUE! With the art of burlesque enjoying a worldwide resurgence, Hi Ball emerged in 2002 as Australia's first premier burlesque troupe. Since then, they have been performing to packed houses. Clad in fishnets and feathers, the girls of Hi Ball take audiences back to a time when burlesque was risque' yet elegant, and striptease was much more about the tease. They put the bump into the grind and the tease in raunch. Nicely of course!!!
