(Left to Right) TIM, CHRIS, DOUG & JOHN "JT"
Radio Mosaic is a four-piece Rock and Roll band based in the Washington, DC area and composed of members of the New Potato Caboose - a national act whose popularity soared between 1986 and 1992 and whose albums received national sales and airplay. Over the last four years, Radio Mosaic has built a reputation for passionate live performances to sell-out crowds and has gained a strong and regular regional following. In describing the bands sound, Tommy Mullins of Music Monthly said, Radio Mosaic mixes folk rock sensibilities with modern rock grooves and then tops it all off with a bit of guitar edge. No one member of this band has been playing for less than 20 years. They have spent most of their lives playing music and touring both regionally and nationally. It shows in every aspect of their live shows and is evidenced further in their studio releases.
Radio Mo's unique, energetic and fresh approach gives their music an original and progressive flavor. Their debut release "Look Around" was described by Mick Skidmore of Relix Magazine as, loaded with sparkling originals... the strength of the songs and the bands energetic and exuberant delivery make this disc so appealing. Their new CD Roll is driving and adventurous; exciting ear candy thats furiously fun from start to finish. Bill Wright of WRNR writes in the Chesapeake Music Journal, Roll is simply brilliant... a fantastic release. Dave Demarco of Music Monthly says of the new cd, The songs on Roll feel instantly familiar the first time you hear them and the hooks stick with you long after the CD is over. Mike Joyce of the Washington Post says, "mixing fresh tunes with NPC holdovers, "Roll" keeps things syncopated and lighthearted. The reggae romp "Party" and the beat-happy "Y Dance" quickly reveal their twin purposes -- to lift spirits and soles at the same time." With well crafted all original material, these releases establish Radio Mosaic as a band that will be around for a while.
When Radio Mo does a live show, they don't use set lists. The spontaneity of their shows and symbiotic interaction with the crowd make for an enjoyable and memorable event of not just music but of experiences of the moment - something extraordinary that will never be the same on any given night.
Doug, John and Mike worked together on the critically acclaimed New Potato Caboose release "Promising Traveler" (Rykodisc) which sold over 60,000 copies nationwide. We're beginning to see a following like that of NPC build for Radio Mosaic, and rightly so - the magic that was NPC is still alive in Radio Mosaic.

RADIO MOSAIC - LIVE and in Concert - (Tim, John "JT", Doug, & Chris)

DOUG PRITCHETT, a native of Birmingham Alabama, has been singing and playing music in the DC area since 1983. Doug's strong lead vocals steer the band through their musical journeys - the centerpiece of Radio Mo's signature sound. A veteran of New Potato Caboose and Wood 'n' Steel, Doug has been featured on albums including "Promising Traveler" (Caboose, Rykodisc), "Winds of Change" (Caboose, LPR), "Wood 'n' Steel" (Wood 'n' Steel, LPR), "Caboose - Reunion 97", as well as others.

Although JOHN TRUPP "JT" is an exceptional drummer, he also plays many other instruments as well as writes, produces, and arranges many of Radio Mo's tunes. Like others in the band, John spent many years touring nationally with New Potato Caboose and was one of their main songwriters. After the Caboose, John went on to become manager/songwriter for the regionally acclaimed band The True. This led to numerous production credits. Teaming up with John Alagia (Dave Matthews, John Mayer) and Doug Derryberry (Bruce Hornsby, Everything) at Rutabaga Studios, he was songwriter/drummer in their band and was a busy studio session player on many of the records the studio produced. He was also drummer/songwriter on their last release "Reinvigorating the Wheel". He released a solo record entitled "Beware of the Dogma" where he composed, produced, and arranged all the music and performed almost all of the parts. His latest project was producer on "Roll", Radio Mo's second release.

Playing bass for over 23 years now, CHRIS SUSSMAN began his professional experience playing live in the Richmond, VA area back in 1987. Chris played with several regional touring bands during that time including Hurricane Bob and the Streamliners and more notably The Headstone Circus. After relocating to the Washington DC area in the mid 90s, Chris has spent his time playing with the Washington DC based Jam Band, Three Quarter Squeegee. Chris has a diverse background when it comes to his musical influences. Combining various elements in to his playing; Chris has a funkier more pocket oriented sound. With John Trupp on the drums, Radio Mo has a rhythm section that sets standards not follows them.

TIM PRUITT more a veteran of the Baltimore music scene than Washington's since the mid-eighties, brings a sound to Radio Mosaic can vary from Blues to Bluegrass and from Country to Rock and Roll and all points in between. Tim has played the Baltimore club and party scene since 1986 with Frankentractor (formerly The Swilltones), Kwyjibo, and Snake Oil. After crossing paths with bassist Mike Mahoney in various bands, Mike recruited Tim to play guitar on some East Coast tour dates with New Potato Caboose throughout 1991 and 1992. Mike and Tim continued to play together in the Baltimore club scene in the blues band Medicine Rattlers. When the guitar slot in Radio Mosaic opened up in March of 1998 Mike once again recruited Tim. Tim gets to play all of the styles of music that he enjoys with Radio Mosaic and it "gives [him] the chance to make music with an extremely talented bunch of guys."
