THE RED SEA BAR and THE GREEN ROOM “LIVE”...
We are a humble, 2-room club. Together we are the venue, but not a "Roadhouse" style venue. In other words, the bar is not in the same room as the stage. However, there are 2 crossover locations into the bar and beverages are also available through a service window from the club side of the venue. Don't forget to ask about Drink Specials!
THE SCENE...
We are what is called a Mini-Venue. Some might say Micro. We offer a diverse selection of popular musical genres. Though most of our entertainment comes from the local scene, our size still does not keep us from catering to many National and even International acts. We are very close to the U of M and compete heavily with other the campus bars (where students can crawl across the street to their dorm rooms after a night of drinking). Still, a well-promoted show will always bring in a good crowd. We do not have a regular crowd other than a handful of Happy Hour drinkers and "Bar Flies" common to most bars. This means the audience consists of those attending the event based on the featured performance. In The Green Room “LIVE” there is only seating for about 30, and every seat offers a good view of the stage. However, if you do not like where you are seated...STAND UP! We've found that most people enjoy standing close to the stage at concerts anyway. So, move around and rub up against someone you don't know and make a new friend. You'll feel just right about it...especially after a few drinks.
EVENT INFO...
Specific event logistics vary. Happy Hour is from 4-9pm daily and drink specials are offered nightly. On average, the cover is 18+ or All Ages $8 / 21+ $7 / $5 in Advance. Performance windows can be anytime between 5pm and 2am, 7 nights a week. Check specific listing for details.
VALIDATED PARKING...
Parking is available in the lots behind the club and across the street, behind Midwest Mountaineering. More parking can be found 1/2 block East on Riverside Ave in the U of M parking ramp across from Hard Times Cafe'. If you are lucky enough to find curb side parking nearby, it's free after 6pm. Bring your validation tickets to the bar and get $2 off your purchase.
