I started off in the late 60ties playing the Blues like John Mayall, trying to copy Eric,Peter,Mick and all those guitar wizards.
Then I dropped music to study medicine and became a M.D. and a scientist.
My second approach to music was a German singer named Wolf Biermann.
Although I still refused to learn reading score, I somehow managed to copy his guitar style and sang and played most of his songs.
A little later I joined a band and we played West Coast stuff like Little Feat, J.J. Cale, also stuff from Dire Straits and Eric Clapton.
My musical life then changed when I started playing with Osho people, mainly Karunesh, then Anugama, Kamal and Sangit Om.
At that time ( early 80ties ) I started writing the songs, I still write. Songs about love, peace, mystery.
About 15 years later I went to Poona to play a lot there in the Heart Dance Band and White Robe Meditation. Then my song writing took off and songs came up, that I would not have imagined to be able to write.
These songs still mean a lot to me and also to few other people.
I never learned to record or play for a regular performance. These songs seem to exist to be sung with people who just gather once in a while to sing their heart out and dance.
That is what I am still doing. Maybe someone will love these little songs like we do ...
I like to feature my friend Chinmaya in this place. He has a strong concern about India's environment. He created a DVD with music played by his Celtic Raga Band. It is almost the same band that played the famous concert on Paul McCartney's wedding... Here is a taste of it.
