F.A.N is a Baltimore based Rap duo consisting of Rashan Cole Da Tradesman and Remy C.A.B.L.A.S.I. Da Truth. The groups startling name F.A.N, an acronym for Fuck-A-Name, derived from a tiring of trying to come up with the correct label to describe what the group was representing. "Who cares what the name is, the music represents itself!," was the feeling when the two burgeoning entrepreneurs decided to keep the-what may be seen as belligerent moniker as their title. Nevertheless, in keeping with the standard of well-known performers in the music industry, the name however brash it may come across is very catchy. The groups sound is a slightly eclectic mix of Hardcore Hip Hop, Popular Rap music and Reggae.Remy C.A.B.L.A.S.I. Da Truth (25) hails from the Eastside of Baltimore City MD, also known as Harm City. As a young man Remy was recognized by his peers for his disarming sense of humor, however, it takes more than just a good sense of humor to survive on the streets East B-more. Constantly being in and out of trouble at school and with the law put a strain on his relationship with his parents. After watching cousins that he had grown up with dying or being put in jail because of life on the streets, Remy decided he wanted something better for himself. In high school Remy linked up with another fellow East Baltimore Native, Rashan Cole Da Tradesman (24). College, as he is often called by his peers, had a very up and down upbringing. With 2 Jamaican parents he spent much of the early part of his life traveling back and forth between Jamaica and the U.S., but after his father was locked up on King Pin drug charges in the late 80s, things in Da Tradesmans life changed dramatically. At an early age, Tradesman refused to get involved in a life of crime as to withstand landing in jail like his father and breaking his mothers heart, but as with most young men in the ghetto, life on the other side of the law became more and more intriguing the harder life got.Going through a lot of the same struggles and issues with poverty, the two young men put their energies together and set out to make something better out of life. Tradesman, who was already into rapping and music from an early age since his parents were both musicians, helped Remy get more involved and focused on music as a way out of the ghetto. With Tradesman producing the beats under his alter ego Joseph T. College, a sound reminiscent of Mobb Deep and The Fugees rolled into one, and a name stunning enough to grab the attention of just about anyone, the group started recording and performing in their hometown of Baltimore. Now, after years of paying dues, the duo is ready to take their careers to the next level with the release of their debut album "City Of Harm"! Also check out Thique Magazine , Raw Entertainment
