About Me
Ministry of Sound London, Ministry of Sound Radio, The Cross London, Pacha London, Po Na Na Cambridge, Fez Club Reading, Fez Club Cambridge, The Soul Tree Cambridge, The U.S.A and also interest coming from South Africa, Italy & Germany!
Within it’s 1st 3 years, Cambridge based Rhythm at Work had worked with some of the most prestigious brands, clubs and promoters in the World...and in 2007 they show no sign of slowing down!
2005 saw Rhythm at Work take on 4 new residencies, a new partner & launch their dirty sister night, “Club Spankâ€...and 2006 was even busier with interest coming from Italy, Germany and the USA!
April 2006 Rhythym at Work were invited across the Atlantic to play at Euronight in Norfolk, Virginia by one of their Radio listeners, Vitali Srvutas! Andy Northrop, Rhythm at Work Promoter explains, "and we were hosting our weekly Thursday night show on Ministry of Sound Radio, when we had an email come through asking when we were going out to the U.S? So I just replied.. send us the tickets and we'll come! And they did, so we went!"
Here's what Euronight promoter Vitali had to say about the night: "Thanks to Jamie and Gary (Rhythm at Work residents) we had another amazing night. UK was off the hook. Even 3 celebs were there to enjoy the evening. Michael Jordan, Bruce Smith (Ex NFL Football player) and Maria Boren (NBCs The Apprentice 2) were there... SWEET PARTY! JUST SWEET".
On the success of that booking, Rhythm at Work have since made a 2nd appearence at The Granby Theatre for Euronights 1st Birthday on Dec 2nd 2006 and are now in the process of putting together a 10-14 day tour, which they aim to start in Miami and finish in New York, taking in cities such as Chicago and Wasington DC along the way.
2006 also saw the birth of “Club Spankâ€. Club Spank is for the more discerning clubber! While Rhythm at Work is focused with delivering upfront house music with glamorous décor podium dancers and Percussion, Club Spank focuses purely on the raw filthy/dirty underground house sound!
Expect to see more of Rhythm at Works dirty little sister throughout 2007
Summer 2007, Rhythm at Work returned to the White Isle of Ibiza for their weekly summer residency at Plastik in San Antonio.

Rhythm at Work resident DJ's
Gary Willis
South African born Gary has been playing for over nine years. Since 2002, Gary has taken his DJing dreams and made them reality.
Gary’s unique style, which is a blend of soulful, electro and dirty house has opened doors, which have lead to opportunities only some bedroom DJ’s could
dream off. With the support of people such as Andy Norththrop, Gareth Cooke, Nick Bridges and Bobby and Steve, Gary has ventured into venues and played alongside world class DJ’s, only once dreamed of.
Gary regularly plays at some of the biggest parties throughout the U.K. and abroad for both Rhythm At Work and Housexy (MOS). He has featured alongside some of the world’s finest DJing talent’s such as Bobby & Steve, Dj Disciple, Paul ‘Trouble’ Anderson and Nick Bridges to name a few. He has also played alongside live PA specialists such as Kenny Carpenter, Barbara Tucker and Brian Chambers.
2006 not only saw Gary become resident for the Fez club Cambridge, but also for Ministry of Sound's 'Housexy' brand. As a result, Gary has traveled far and wide encompassing parties in America, Ibiza, Switzerland, South Africa and even Mauritius. Not content with just DJing with some of the UK's most prestigious nights including Hed Kandi, Rhythm At Work, Housexy and Nick Bridges at the Fez, Gary has now teamed up with Cambridge boy wonder James Theika, to form the dark, sexy and seductive shindig that is SWING.
Gary can now be found on regular radio shows through out the U.K. and Europe. Every second week you can catch Gary on Digital Rhythm on a Thursday evening between 9pm and 11pm. On a monthly basis Gary brings to the world an exclusive two-hour mix on Ministry Sound of Radio and Alpha Radio based in Bulgaria. You can catch both these shows on-line and Sky digital radio.
As we move further into 2007, Gary has aspirations of starting a production career, which he hopes will open more opportunities world - wide and bring this DJ’s talents closer to you!!

2006 saw Jamie form a DJing partnership with another of Rhythm at Works DJ’s, Stuart Pennick, forming “The Unknown DJ’sâ€. With their calendar solidly booked for the remainder of this year and their first completed production looming, 2007 is looking is looking very bright for both The Unknown DJ’s and Jamie as a solo artist!
Stuart Pennick (The Unknown DJ’s)
Since 2004 Stuart has been making his mark in the industry with string of successful appearances across London and the east of England. Following his highly successful debut for Rhythm at Work at Ministry of Sound, he was offered the chance to join one of the UK’s most exciting parties and take the fourth & final residents post for both the club nights and Digital Rhythm, Rhythm at Works weekly radio show on Ministry of Sound radio.
As well as playing regularly for the Rhythm parties at a number of their residencies across the UK & abroad, including Ministry of Sound London, The Fez Clubs in Cambridge & Reading & Plastik Ibiza, Stuart has also received a number of bookings at high profile clubs/parties both in the UK and abroad including, Pukka Up @ Pacha London, Wild Child @ Heaven, Ministry of Sound @ Eden & Tidy @ Es Paradis.
Paul Higgins
Paul has been a Rhythm at Work resident since 2003, when he was spotted playing out at a number of student clubnights in Cambridge. He impressed the local crowds at Fez and Po Na Na but it was his debut performance for Rhythm at Work at the world-famous Ministry of Sound in London alongside resident Nick Bridges (aka Bodyrox) which lead to bookings around some of the biggest clubs in the southeast of England. As well as developing a following at Pacha London, Paul has clocked up ten further appearances at Ministry of Sound, including Rhythm at Work's inaugural party in 'The Bar'.
2005 saw Paul hit the international circuit, notably performing at five different bars in Ibiza over the summer. He returned to Ibiza in 2006, once again supporting Rhythm at Work's residency in Plastik, San Antonio, and since then has built up more experience in bars and clubs across Europe. Now, having played with some of the industry's biggest names, including Jon Carter, Sander Kleinenberg, Steve Angello, Derrick Carter, Grandmaster Flash, Seaumus Haji, Michael Gray and Tony Humphries, with exciting upcoming international projects and experience on Ministry of Sound Radio, Paul is making a name for himself as one of the country's most promising young DJs, whilst his unique upbeat and percussive style of house music continues to make him a favourite with followers of Rhythm at Work.
Papa Nicol (Percussion)
Nicol Simon Wilson (otherwise known as Papa Nicol) started life as a drummer at the age of 6, in no small part due to his dad Pete who is also a drummer.
After gaining his BTec National Diploma in Popular Music at college he became the drummer for his much loved (and missed) band Lenny with great mates Kev ,Tattoo, Keen, James Sumner (Soul Hooligan, Oceans 7), Chris ,Screech, Firth and Russell Parrish. Lenny was followed by his first stint as a percussionist in Latin jazz band Eos who were well known on the festival circuit. During his time with Eos he and lead guitarist Rob Tym (Guitarist of The Year Nominee) were the support act for Desree at the Shepherds Bush Empire and he played at Wembley, Birmingham NEC and NIA in National Music shows for Trace Elliott. Papa also played percussion for Jamie Oliver's Scarlet Division, recording at Maida Vale for the Zoe Ball Breakfast Show.
After a phone call from James Sumner Papa became the drummer for already Maverick signed Soul Hooligan whose album was released a few months later and whose songs featured in films such as Austin Powers 3 Goldmember, Driven and The Last Castle. Soul Hooligan played at Cargo in London live on Xfm and were on Xfm's No. 1 play list for several weeks with Algebra.
Thanks to Rob Perfect (DJ/Promoter) Papa started playing at house nights in Colchester, Ipswich and Brighton and at events such as World Dance and Elements of Hip Hop.
Whilst playing at Distinction in Ipswich Papa met Nick Bridges who immediately saw an opportunity for friend and promoter Andy Northrop of Rhythm at Work who was looking for something extra for his club nights, thus Papa became Rhythm at Work's resident percussionist.
After his first gig for Rhythm at Work and an unfortunate argument with a flat bed planer he also became known to many as 'Nicky Nine Fingers' The loss of a finger hasn't impeded him in any way and he has continued to play for Rhythm at Work for the past four and a half years at Fez Club (Reading & Cambridge), Ministry of Sound (London), Pacha (London), B-Bar (Cambridge), Baroosh (Uxbridge), Roxy (Colchester), Route (Colchester), Limit Club (Sheffield) and several Cambridge University balls.
Not only a drummer and percussionist Papa also plays piano and guitar and any other instrument he can get his hands on! He has always written and composed his own songs and is now hoping to go further with this.
