Myspace Layouts by Pimp-My-Profile.com
I am not going to talk about myself as a third party as this is MY SPACE not his or her space and I feel that you'll get to know me more on a personal level. I want you to feel like you're coming to my house when you visit this page.I started Dj'ing about 10 years ago. I've always played Phat n Funky House but I was actually taught by a hip hop tricks dj hence all the scratching and tricks during my sets. During the years I've played Drum and Bass, Trance and Hard House at some of the biggest Raves in the state. When I say Phat n Funky house, I mean just that. It's the kind of house that literally gets IN YOUR MOUTH!! I love the live element, Fat Bass guitar riffs, sax's, trumpets and basically anything live is what I play. A twist of Electro House doesn't go astray as it is the big sound at the moment. Give it a year or so and funky shit will be back!! Speaking of live music!I started playing music at the tender age of 5. I took up violin and studied it for 2 years however I found that it didn't have enough BALLS!! My uncle started playing trumpet when I was 7 and when I heard it, I knew that the brass sound was it. I was in love with the sound. I played trumpet until I was about 16, playing in 7 different bands ranging from the school band to jazz and marching bands however my favourite band was the Adelaide mini orchestra. That's where a select few people from different schools were chosen from all over South Australia to play. Then my life took a disatstrous turn when I had a few teeth taken out and braces put in. I tried playing but I kept ripping into my gums and lips.I'm not really the type to sit a whinge about a minor problem so I started singing in a band which lasted 2 years. I turned 18 and started going out! Say no more, I saw turntablism for the first time and it's been hell for leather ever since. I've played at pretty much every club in Adelaide and also F4 in Melb, Motel (Melb) and Oceans in Pt Lincoln (YOU PARTY ANIMALS). And I can't forget the Exchange Hotel in Gawler, a little country town outside of Adelaide. You guys treat me like an international DJ every time I play there. It's one of my favourite gigs. Massive respect!!!My residency over the last 5 years has been one of Adelaide's premier venues, Savvy Bar Lounge where I like to think that's where I've established my name as a DJ. Thanks to all the Savvy team for supporting me, especially Henry Hains and Dan for liking my sound when I first came in. That was a major turning point in my life. Also to all the party people coming out to see me play, if it wasn't for you, I wouldn't be playing anywhere. These past few years at Savvy, I've supported acts such as: Dimitri from Paris, Martin Solveig, Mousse T, Chicken Lips, Metro Area, Boogie Pimps, Syke and Sugarstar, Dirty South and Wei-Shen. A big thanks goes to Yanya Boston on percussion. We blew the roof off Savvy and basically every other venue we played at. Also to the guys at Kings Head, who I've been working with since they opened. You love it in the MOUTH!! The next few years look to be even bigger than the last with my new residency at adelaide's biggest club HQ which has reopened it's doors after being closed for a while. I'm also running the House section at Clinic 116 Records, a record store on Twin St and also thanks to Djon, I'll be getting into the production side of things. I've been mucking around with a few projects over the last year, but now I think it's time to get serious.
