Des's Tracks:
..
A little background info on us, we're Des & Liz, we've been happily married now for 7 years, contrary to the fact we come from very different backgrounds! Liz an American & Des an Englishman. It is our differences that enriches our life together, both muscially and artistically.
Des expressed his wish to put his music out there to where people would listen, but mentioned in passing that he felt there was no way possible for it to happen. Liz was determined that his music would be heard and set out to find a way to make his dream happen.
Liz asked him, if he could have a band name what would he call it? Liz immediately turned down his first choice, Captain Spatula and his amazing turnip. His other choice was Acid Drop, but Liz felt that it didn't suit him, especially after she saw that there were already 7 music profiles with the same name! After one of Des's drawing sessions, Des mentioned he always felt that acid music sounded like liquid, so why not Likwid Musik?. Liz immediately embraced the idea, and on what was their 6th Wedding Anniversary (2006), Liz made the music page as a gift. Unfortunately, Liz is the one who maintains the page now! ha ha!
Oi Oi!!! I'm Des, a retired graffiti artist, I've been experimenting with different types of dance music for the last 24 years. Me and two mates had a pipedream of making our own group and we decided we'd call ourselves the "3 DJ's" because our initials all started with "DJ."
Unfortunately time got in the way and the dream died, but it was always there in the back of my mind to create my own tracks instead of mixing other people's and have my music heard. This has now been achieved, thanks to cheaper programs that weren't available 20 years ago, Myspace, and my Missus who engineered the whole thing!
I have always liked varied forms of music, especially the electronic form, as you'll notice from my creations! Though to be honest I've always loved electronica most since the days of New Wave (you know, like Gary Numan, or Kraftwerk for instance.) The love affair continued through to House Music and then to Rave which seemed to have a very hypnotic affect. I've always found solace in music, even in the darkest moments of my life it has saved me from deep despair.
Hiya! I'm Liz, Des' missus! I'm still getting to grips with DJing & mixing/making music. I would've preferred to leave the DJing & mixing to Des as he's more experienced and I felt I would never be able to get to his level of creativity! Though Des had other plans! What began with Des mixing and creating by himself, turned into a joint activity to do together on a Saturday Night. Timid and unsure, my first attempt was a soft ambient track called "Ice Angel." Des was so pleased and he loved it so much he insisted rather strongly we put the track up as a tester. It recieved such a positive response that I felt confident enough to try again.
With each track, it's new journey and learning curve, which was difficult to begin with as I was a dedicated rock & metal fan! So far in love with dance music I've become, it's enabled me to progress further and be extremely bold in my creativity!
Thank you and enjoy our tracks!
