About Me

Alex Castanha aka CrazyTeck was born in September 1982. His first encounter with electronic music was back in 1999 with the notorious Black&Blue event in Montreal, Canada. It was the start of a love story with electronic music that is now more present than ever.After clubbing in Montreal's underground parties, Alex wanted to be more active in the scene. In 2001, he began experimenting with making music on his computer, using software such as Fruity Loops, Rebirth, Acid and finally, Reason. Wanting to further his knowledge of sound theory and technology, Alex brilliantly passed his degree in Sound Design at Musi-Technic in 2002, a specialist school in digital techniques for sound and music.Slowly building his own home studio and working hard to perfect his art, Alex spent a lot of time on the search of his own sound and style. In 2005, Alex started to produce quality tracks in a new unique style, being influenced by many different styles, from Hard Techno to Acid, Psy/Goa Trance and even Industrial.Gaining support from Chris Hampshire, owner and label manager of Recover, he released a debut with the awesome CrazyTeck Mix of Sol Ray & Glowbones' Dark Angel in March 2006. Since then, Alex has collaborated with great producers such as Nortek from Norway (who won the contest Pimp My Track of Sander Van Doorn) and Ben Fraser from the UK, owner and label manager of Sabretooth Records.Always working hard on projects, CrazyTeck has got many more quality tracks to come!
