Mistoleum

Born in Ottawa, 1983, Mistoleum was always into music & percussions. He use to watch his dad on the guitar playing jazz & blues in local pubs and jazz clubs, and his uncle : Miguel Zamarripa was always at the Montreal Jazz Festvial playing drums and congas with famous artists. Getting older and older, he discovered the world of electronics by listening to early 90’s dance music like Fun Factory, The Out there bros, Captain Jack, U96 etc... He started going into after hour clubs like Aria & Red-Lite in 2001. That’s when he wanted to become a dj/producer. Mistoleum got influenced by one of the biggest local dj in montreal: Preach. He never met him but he always bought and listened to all of his tracks that he has released. Early 2004, he got his first booking at a local underground party called school from Level4Productions with headliner PATRICK DSP. In the summer 2004, he got his first big gig by finishing in the last 3 finalists in the chillyboo dj contest that made him play @ the biggest rave party of the year: Evolution Radar One 7th edition with Headliner VITALIC. Now that he’s part of vortek records & Jester records, at the age of 24 years old, Mistoleum plans to experiment the ’’minimal’’ side of techno rythmes, trying new sounds and creating totally different productions that might open new doors to this young artist.
