Mecánica Suave was founded at the University of Havana in the summer of 2002. The band recorded their first demo in 2003.
Two of their songs Bésame and Deja esa Onda were well accepted by the audience and the first one became a hit in some of the main radio stations in Cuba. The band has made several radio interviews and also played on several Cuban TV shows such as : A Moverse, Cuerda Viva, El Expreso and Súper 12. The band also performed live and received a warm welcome from the young public.
In 2004, Mecánica Suave were nominated by the Cuban National Radio station Juventud 2000 for the Super Cubano 2005 awards in the category of Best Pop Rock Band and Revelation of the Year and featured in their annuals hit parade.
They were nominated again in 2005 in the category of best demo of pop rock of the year 2004 by the Cuban Television Program Cuerda Viva for the festival of the same name.
Mecánica Suave, a group of young Cubans that mix and fusion the Pop- Rock with elements of the Cuban and Latino music in general, bringing a positive message to all the people who listen to their music.
