From the growing city of Little Rock, Arkansas, Chris Gatewood started out writing stories at a young age, around 5 years old, and music was always a second thing to him, growing up listening to the sounds when Micheal Jackson, TLC, Boys2Men, Ginuwine, and boy bands and pop music was the big thing he always would hear the songs and start making up his own songs. "Yeah it was always fun writing a story or making up a song and it still is, when my Dad told me about tape recorders, I instantly got one, got a tape and played around with it, before you know it I was taping myself talking to my family or about my stories and then it got to singing." After his aunt lent him his first keyboard he and his sister started singing together along with the demos, "Yeah I didn't like the demos but there was no other music to sing too on that old keyboard." Then Chris, after making some tapes with his sister, did his own thing and made some tapes. Then later, he got his first recordable keyboard, where he made his own beats. "I was so excited, now I don't know how we afforded it and it's outdated but I still use it and make good songs." He then made his first songs, put them together, and made his first album (the tape is now so eaten up) and he titled it "The Beginning" because it was the beginning. After that he started making songs and beats off the wall, back to back albums, then singles, mixtapes, demos, and still is doing the same thing. "That keyboard really increased my dreams!" Around 12 and 13 he started writing songs and stories off the wall and even some scripts and small poems. They tried looking for screenwriting agents but it never worked out, he tried looking for producers but they were always too expensive, so he kept on with outdated tapes and that's where he still is now, his "studio" is his small bedroom and his equipment is nothing but a keyboard, tape recorder, and a dream that someday he'll make it big. "Yeah I'll just keep on, that's the only thing to do. Maybe someone will like my demo, will like my music." So he tried to find screenwriter agents but nothing came out of it and then his demos weren't doing anything, he then started looking at music credits to find anyone that could help him, he went through links on myspace and continued to work and daydream on his goal. He still haven't made it but he's not giving up. He says he wants to be part of the Little Rock hip hop movement that is really big right now in the city. While also someday in the future, making big hits, writing books, and maybe even maybe a movie. "I have big dreams,I know that, so I just got to take it one step at a time." His music is also really versatile, one verse he will be rapping, the churos he may be singing, and the verse he may be singing, and the third verse rapping, plus he changes the way he raps in each verse, so it's really something unique. "It's good to be versatile and it's good to listen to all types of music, that's what I do, and when you look at me, you may not think 'oh he's a rapper or a writer' and I'm a quiet guy at times but when it comes to music or family you'll hear me, you'll hear me when my song hits the radio!" he says laughing. He also says this; "Well some people may not like my songs because I don't rap about committing violence and I don't cuss and make songs about drugs, I try to keep my music clean for everyone of all ages and steps of life can hear and the guys at school love the songs, I think a lot of people will like at least one of my songs once they hear it. I also like to mix different cultures in my music, like in my songs it may be hip hop and I add some Spanish words in there, I like to do that because I love the Latino culture along with the African American and all the other cultures of the world. I just got one more last thing to say, I hope ya'll like my music, because I'll never give this up, and all ya'll out there with dreams don't give up. We'll make it someday until then LittleRockJamZ! From rock to jazz to country to R&B to hip hop to oldschool and everything else, I try to do it all, oh and major labels get your tape players out cuz i'm sending my demos!" With a type of music that is missing from the radio, Chris Gatewood will be a big impact to the world. "When I make and write my music, I try to envision myself as the listener and put myself in his/her shoes, whether it's in the fields with your lover looking up into the stars or you're chilling and dancing with your friends in the city, from India to Mexico to Puerto Rico, wherever you are and whoever you are and whatever situation you're in, I try to make music that will touch everybody," says Chris Gatewood. People get ready for the the new R&B/pop singer that will blow the world up with his music and that dives into different genres of music...Chris Gatewood.....How you like the Bio i did of myself? i love it! lol LOOKING FOR A MAJOR LABEL TO SIGN POP/R&B SINGER!!!
