Every Saturday we feature a local artist (musician, visual artist, designer, singer, rapper, poet, etc.) on our Mic Check series to give the Rock a glimpse at the many artist making their impact on the local scene and abroad. Hosted by Little Rocks own 'Suite Ladies' Coffy, the She-jay's of Hip-Hop!. Don't forget the ladies behind the music, StarChild, B-Nice and 1AD. Here's two clips from the show.The T.U.R.N. project (The Underground Railroad Neighborhood project), a group of mentors/students, was founded in 2004 as a response to the immediate need for children of an underprivileged community to find an alternative to destructive behaviors as well as to establish a forum for young artists (musicians, vocalists, poets, and visual artists) to explore their own creative energy while showcasing their talent. T.U.R.N. has created a way to bring the arts to the people through various workshops, visits to correctional facilities and juvenile centers, and a weekly hip-hop after school program.To Donate to the T.U.R.N. project click here --> Poets, Artist, Actors, Activists, Musicians, Dancers, Filmmakers, etc...
