Please read the "Please Read" blog before adding us. Nuke and the Living Dead was a "Horror Punk" band from Detroit Michigan formed around December of '02. The story actually begins in '99 with "Nuke and the Toxic Offenders", but I'll let Nuke or Jimi tell you that story. They had plenty of good times and showed most of the midwest a good ol' time too. Mixing angst-ridden punk rock with doo-wop, rockabilly, hardcore and whatever else came into their drunken minds. The world's trouble's pissed them off and so did having to work like slaves in factories and warehouses. So they strayed away from that in their songs and live shows. They never talked or sang about politics, religion or stuff you had to deal with in life and in the media. Nuke and the Living Dead focused on leaving that stuff behind and enjoying good times with your buddies on the weekends. You know, the fun stuff. Don't get me wrong, these guys weren't oblivious to responsibility and reality, they just wanted to get you away from that for a few hours on a Saturday night. I wouldn't necesarily say they broke up, but the troubles with a declining interest in local punk music in Detroit, along with shady "music business" characters made them decide they didn't wanna keep going at it like they were. They stopped rehersing and getting together after their show on January 20th, 2007 at the Token Lounge. You can find some videos of that show on here and YouTube. They're all still friends and hang out on occasion. There's always a chance for "reunion" type stuff. Nuke, John-O and Deano are jamming in "Hellbound Train, Deano's playing with good buddies "Country Bob and the Bloodfarmers" and Tommy Gun is playing again with the Hubies and about a 1/2 dozen other bands from the Alpena and Grand Rapids areas. You'll most likely run into all the guys at a Country Bob show and same at a Hellbound Train show or when Tommy's in town. That's about all I can tell ya at this time. No one knows what the future has in store.Click here for more MP3s
