Sounds Like:
Right from the outset, it's obvious this CD is great. The first song, Breakdown, starts with a brilliantly catchy riff that's present in all parts of the music, but the real suprise is in the vocals. To be honest, I'm not really a fan of female vocalists, but Emma's vocals have the power and sound of any male contender. (n.b. I'm not saying she sounds like a man). The great sound continues throughout the songs, each sporting a cool little intro before getting into the heavy riffs and mellow synth weaved into the background. The second track, Dirty Angel, does feel a bit repetative towards the end, but as you move on to the next song, the feeling soon passes. All in all, this CD is definatly worth a) the money/time it cost to record, and b) twice the money you'll pay to listen to it. The band's unique seductive rock sound really shines through, and if you're expecting a Karn8 clone because of the female vocalist, you'll be happy to hear just how different Deathsexsymbol are.Mark WWW.ULTIMATESOUND.CO.UK
