I'm a music correspondent for Gather.com - check out my weekly column, Soundtracking , published every Tuesday!
I'm a poet - you can listen to me reading some of my poetry here, if that's your thing. You might even like it.
I post some of my poems on my blog here, so have a look.
So I'm from NJ, and I live in a pine forest. I'm the author of these two chapbooks called Roadside Stands and Staying Golden. I've featured at the Mid-Atlantic Spoken Word Festival, and at some other venues you most likely haven't heard of unless you're a poet and/or resident of NJ. I haven't been performing as much lately due to a series of unfortunate car accidents, but I'm trying to get back into it. I am available to do feature readings/performances in the NJ / Philly /NYC area - contact me if you're interested in booking me for a show.
I talk. A lot. So if you want to talk to me, send a message. I'm friendly.
I also do a good deal of non-fiction writing - newsletters, articles, website content and the like.
One of my short stories,
Mudo, was published in the Santa Clara Review. Another,
California People, won the Life For Change short story contest. You can read these and and other Michael-stories up on my story myspace .
Music composed especially for the poetry thanks to the amazing Prosolar Mechanic
You can hear some of my poetry on the Homegrown Podcast (programme 4).
More about me:
Things I get asked about a lot...
I'm a mother of three teenagers! Yes, that does make me kinda crazy sometimes. My daughters are 16 (twins) and my son is 14. I'm married to my soulmate, Aus, who does amazing computer-type things and is an all around amazing guy.
When I look out my front door, I see trees. When I look out my back door, trees. Out the windows? Well, yeah.. trees. We have a lot of squirrels and birds out there, and less frequently deer, groundhogs, chipmunks, turtles, lizards, snakes, and bunnies. The trees are pines, oaks, maples, hollies- all sorts of things. Primarly pines though, hence the pine barrens. The soil is all sandy here.
Other than writing, I like singing, reading, crochet, walking in nature, playing games, rpg games, and talking to people.
My actual blog/journal that I write in on a nearly daily basis can be found on Live Journal - my LJ blog
