Mikromusic group created by the vocalist Natalia Grosiak and the guitarist Dawid Korbaczynski around 2002 at the Students Song Festival in Krakow, where the band, (without any name yet) got two awards, including the opportunity to record a professional demo. But Dawid and Natalia had been working together even before, since their first meeting during Blues Workshops in Bolesawiec. Despite reasonable differences in their music tastes, they played a few songs together. Then, they bumped into each other in Wroclaw. It turned out that their musical inspirations and fascinations had changed a lot. Chats about music and the process of its creation resulted in their cooperation which continues until now.
First, as a duet, they performed songs written by Natalia and arranged by Dawid. Gradually, the group expanded first, by inviting Igo Blishke, a German percussionist playing the cahon. Unfortunately, he left Poland soon afterwards. The next members were Maciej Chudy (bass), Sebastian Szczepanowski (drums) and Grzegorz Grocholski (trumpet). It was the time when the name Mikromusic was born. The band got two awards during the above mentioned festival in Krakow in 2002, took the second place the following year, were the finalists of the OPPA festival in Warsaw (Polish Review of the Authors Song) and the Festival of Polish Songs in Opole the debut contest (with the trumpeter Ernest Heksel).
Around that time, Natalia and Dawid met Robert Szydlo (the producer of their demo), an outstanding bassist and producer. They promised one another to record a CD together. And they did. The preparation for the debut lasted a year and during that time the band signed a contract with Polish Radio. Polish Radio 3 took Mikromusic and their album under its wings.
Dawid and Natalia invited a number of great guests to perform on their album: the jungle specialist, excellent French drummer - Pierre Level, the keyboard magician - Bzim Zarecki, the master of drum groove Irek Glyk, the multi-instrumentalist and vocalist - Sambor Dudzinski, and the world- famous pianist - Leszek Mozdzer.
Now, Mikromusic performs in a new, dream band: Natalia Grosiak (vocal), Dawid Korbaczynski (guitar), Robert Szydlo (bass), Adam Lepka (trumpet), Robert Jarmuzek (piano), Michal Czwojda (drums), and Maciek Prokopowicz (sound engineer).
