Artur Lesicki - guitarist, composer, working in various musical genres but focused on jazz. Co-leader of Funky Groove, who are known as Poland's Best Electric Jazz Band (title awarded by the prestigious Polish "Jazz Forum" magazine). The group's first record was placed in the worldwide catalog of Universal Music soon after its release. Artur is also the leader of his own band, a powerful acoustic foursome called Artur Lesicki Acoustic Harmony, whose debut was also released on Universal. The albums which feature Lesicki's trademark guitar sound were often dubbed 'guitar records of the year' by top Polish music magazines (the former "Gitara i Bas", "Jazz Forum").Artur has played and worked with many famous jazz and pop artists, including Peter Herbolzheimer (dubbed one of the greatest arrangers of the modern era), Adam Holzman (Miles Davis' longtime pianist), pop star Anna Maria Jopek, well-known jazzmen Tomasz Namyslowski, Tomasz Szukalski, Wojciech Karolak, Leszek Mozdzer and many others. Lesicki took his music to many parts of the world, playing live gigs in Japan, France, Holland, Italy and Germany.Artur also works as a session musician lending his sounds to the pop scene and theater. His achievements also include long-time teaching of the tricks of the guitar trade at all the biggest workshops of Poland as well as the Wroclawian School of Jazz and Popular Music.The latest project of Artur Lesicki is his multimedia guitar course DVD - more than 2 hours of high-quality didactic material, complete with backing tracks and sheet music. The DVD's premiere took place in October 2006. The course is endorsed by the biggest Polish guitar mag "Gitarzysta" (Polish edition of "Guitarist"). The DVD's English version awaits international release.
