ARMANDO THOMAS GUERRA, a Denver native, found fashion a creative forum of self-expression. The construction of clothing compelled him to learn the arts of sewing, patterns and design. In 1999, after winning the “Auraze Portfolio Contest”, Armando relocated to the heart of the garment district in New York as head designer for the Auraze juniorwear company. Pattern makers, sample rooms, domestic and international trade shows, as well as account openings, complimented his initiation into the fashion industry. In 2002 GUERRA returned to his beloved Denver, regaining fresh inspiration and vigor. That spring he launched the “Love Mondo Trasho” collection locally with great acclaim, and, in 2003, he won the “Young Designer” award from Fashion Group International-Rocky Mountain. His Fall/Winter collection of ‘04 detoured from womenswear into his first menswear collection. He called it an “essay of catholic memoirs entitled ‘Holy Shit’ “, and labeled the new designs “The New Age Malitia”. Having two collections annually, Love Mondo Trasho and New Age Malitia, continue to push the boundaries, and set a standard of excellence for “fashionistas” well into the future...
