I am a solo UK hiphop artist/producer. My style can range from gritty hip hop beats, to mellow r'n'b influenced tracks to grimey underground vibes. Right now im big on sampling. I love the old motown soulfull sound, and ive been putting out loads of soul influenced bangers by the day.I am open minded with my music and create different types of sounds to match with my mood at the time.------------------------------------------------------- ------------------------------------------------------------ ------------------------------------------------------------ ------------------------------------------------------------ ------------------------------------------------------------ -----I'm a different kind of artist because im not in this for the fame, I don't like cameras, and i actually fuck with all aspects of the industry from production to song writing to engineering, mastering and the business obviously. Im more of a business man at heart and hope to start my own independent record label in the future. My rhyme style has been described as lazy, unique and stable. I dont come with any gimmicks, dont feel the need to use all type of big words and complex rhymes styles to confuse people (I could if i wanted to though ha) or put on some stupid voice for tracks. I rap the way i speak, and use words that i use in daily life. Im just me, plain and simple. My music is an extension of my personality. You'd be better off not trying to compare me to other artists or stuff you've heard before and just chill and go with it---------------------------------------------------------- ------------------------------------------------------------ ------------------------------------------------------------ ------------------------------------------------------------ ------------------------------------------------------------ ------------------------------------------------------------ ------------------------------------------------------------ -------------------------------------------------- I first started making beats when I was about 12. Back in the day me and my cousin started out using simple programs like hip hop Ejay, and used to vocal our beats with other rappers verses for fun. I later progressed onto programs such as reason, cubase and logic for making tracks. I started writing lyrics when I first left school at about 16 and enrolled on a BTEC Music Technology course. This is when I started taking my music more seriously and began to think of my music as more of a career rather than just a hobbie. For the next two years we used the college studios to put together various mixtapes and S.P's. I did alot of work with other artists on campus, and also hooked up with a group of american rappers called Royal FAM. I started out occassionally performing with them around clubs in London and helped to record their mixtape. I have done alot of work with an up and coming R'n'B singer named Two Tone, and we ended up puting out a joint mixtape together and sold around 300 copies in our home town. I then enrolled on a music technology degree course at Staffs University and worked on tracks with various other rappers on campus. ------------------------------------------------------------ ------------------------------------------------------------ ------------------------------------------------------------ ------------------------------------------------------------ ------------------------------------------------------------ ------------------------------------------------------------ ------------------------------------------------------------ ------------------------------------------------------------ ------------------------------------------------------------ I dropped out of uni during my second year, due to being unsatisified with the course and actually losing focus on the music (alcohol and girls can be a big distraction). After dropping out i took a couple of months out to focus on just music and nothing else. We started building our studio and i completed my first major LP 'The struggle the rise and the shine' (which still remains unreleased). It was a 25 track piece with a diverse range of beats, mainly featuring my production. Certain tracks were recorded through abit of 'down time' when i was slighty vunerable on the music tip, and some say the direction is quite sad and emotional near the end....Feedback was good and people seemed generally impressed, which was nice. Copies have been distributed mainly for free, because i aint doing this for the money right now.....Its all about promotion and getting heard.------------------------------------------------------ ------------------------------------------------------------ ------------------------------------------------------------ ------------------------------------------------------------ ------------------------------------------------------------ ------------------------------------------------------------ ------------------------------------------------------------ ------------------------------------------------------------ --------- This year has been pretty big so far....After the success of 'The struggle the rise and the shine' last year we got straight back on it in january and started working on my next compilation 'Grindin. vol.1'. Basically the Grindin' series will be regular mixtapes, featuring a mix up of hot new material from myself and other artists im working with. And you also get to hear me coming off my own production and venturing out onto other producers beats (gotta be done). Its rare that you find a producer/artist like myself, who is real serious on production but still more than willing to fuck with other producers in the game...By sticking to my own production i feel my options are limited and my full potential might not be reached.---------------------------------------------------- ------------------------------------------------------------ ---------------------------- ------------------------------------------------------------ ------------------------------------------------------------ ------------------------------------------------------------ ------------------------------------------------------------ ------------------------------------------------------------ ------------------------------------------------------------ It took about 3 months of hard work and man hours to complete 'Grindin' vol.1' and once again, copies of this have been distributed mainly for free...Its a 24 track piece featuring full songs, freestyles, remixs and all types of stuff for everyone...Feedback was very impressive and we stepped it up bigtime on some of the tracks....Some say it lacked the emotion of 'the struggle the rise and the shine' but apart from that, no complaints.------------------------------------------------- ------------------------------------------------------------ ------------------------------------------------------------ ------------------------------------------------------------ ------------------------------------------------------------ ------------------------------------------------------------ ------------------------------------------------------------ ------------------------------------------------------ Grindin' vol. 2 is in process now and ill always be around dropping mixtapes and LP's until things get bigger.
