Yuko Sonoda was born in Yokohama to a father who was a craftsman of Japanese traditional musical instruments. From an early age, with the influence of her father, she became familiar with Japanese music such as folk music. She began to play the piano at the age of 5, the wadaiko at 6 and the shamisen at 10. At 19, she meets the Mac computer and begins to compose music. She also starts research on folk music of the world around this time. At the same time, she begins writing musical pieces with Okamoto Yoshifumi, who is the Iemoto (grand master) of Okamoto Ryu. She composed and arranged piano-oriented songs.1992: As a street dancer during her high school years, she acquires a wealth of knowledge relating to 12-inch remixes and track production from DJ Kensei, with who she co-hosted club events at J TRIP BAR (Shibuya), ZOA (Nishi-azabu) and other clubs.1995: She was in charge of writing commentary on newly released jazz and hip-hop music for DMR (Dance Music Record Shibuya). Her days of being fascinated by House African, Samba and other various dance music continued. She also actively held events on the dance scene, and began to pursue the relationship between music and dancing.Since then, in addition to her creative activities with Abstract Note, she has been writing jingles for major businesses, film music, providing songs to artists, and producing artists.

Yoshifumi was born in Minato-ku, Tokyo. 1980: He studies under the master Honjo Hidetaro and is given the name Honjo Hidewaka. 1985: He holds the Honjo Hidewaka no Kai at Shiba ABC Hall. 1992: He appears in “Un Doko†produced by Haruomi Hosono. 1993: He becomes independent and goes by the name of Okamoto Yoshifumi.He performed on the NHK Television programs Minyou wo Anata ni, Geinou Hyakusen, Geinou Hanabutai, and Kyushu no Uta. He also appeared on the radio programs Nihon no Minyou, Nihon no Hougaku, and others. He performed regularly for 9 years as an accompanist of Japanese songs for commercial television programs Daimei no Nai Ongaku Kai and TBS Machikado TV. He also has experience performing in America and France. He also has numerous appearances for the Hauta recordings and stage acts under his belt.2002: From this year onward, he has been holding the Okamoto Yoshifumi Zashiki Uta annually. 2006: He holds the Okamoto Yoshifumi no Kai at Fukagawa Shou Gekijyou.To highlight his career as an accompanist, he performed as the Japanese song accompanist to Hibari Misora, and produced Japanese movie and television drama soundtracks. From classic songs to modern music, he has a reputation as an outstanding all-round music performer.In addition to his music career with Abstract Note, he is currently holding classes throughout the country as the Iemoto of Okamoto Ryu, offering lessons on musical performance of classical music for theater.

1996: He begins his career as a club DJ. He was the star DJ for the old-line club LOGOS in Yokohama.2003: He was the live DJ for FG Crew’s Channel and the track maker for their albums Discovery and 1g no Shiawase. He also contributed music to the compilation albums JOY RIDE, Re: YOKOHAMA, BAY SIDE, and Maira’s album Kanzeon! Daygler. In addition to CLEAN UP at The Bridge Yokohama, which he started in 1998 as the organizer and continues to this day, he experienced great success with the 2008 JOY RIDE Japan tour and events such as Dynamite at Ikebukuro Bed and 6pack at Shibuya FAMILY. He holds regular parties mainly in Yokohama but his scene is spreading nationwide.The ongoing series of DJ mixes THROW BACK and NATURAL RESOURCE, which began in 2007, feature a groovy mix of various kinds of black music from soul and jazz of the 70’s to recent HIP-HOP. The mixes continue to receive outstanding appraisal from record stores across the country.
