About Me

Glasgow Media Access Centre (GMAC) nurtures, trains and develops emerging film talent in Scotland.

GMAC Shorts is three individual filmmaking schemes funded by Scottish Screen, UK Film Council and BBC Scotland.
* Cineworks is for emerging scriptwriters, documentary filmmakers and animators.
* DigiCult is for drama writer/directors stepping beyond their first short film commission.
* Little Pictures is for people who are brand new to filmmaking.

After almost two hundred applications to the GMAC Shorts Talent Pool in November 2006, twenty-eight Cineworks and DigiCult projects went into development in January 2007.

GMAC is pleased to announce that seven projects have now been commissioned across Cineworks and DigiCult.

Cineworks short Snakebite is in competition at the Berlin Intl Film Festival (8 - 18 Feb 07) in the programme Generation Kplus. GMAC wishes congratulations and best of luck to writer/ director Matt Pinder and producer Stuart Dobbs.

DigiCult short Mono (Dir. Richard Smith) was recently awarded runner-up prize at the BBC New Talent Awards.
