DJ Ban is a Japanese music producer, DJ, organizer, and a founder of the label bud music Inc.
He started his music career as a DJ in 1999 and two years later he moved to Kyoto, where he also started out as a buyer of the record shop JET SET.
DJ Ban organized a bunch of parties at the main clubs (Metro, World etc.) in Kyoto, collaborating with various well-known artists from home and abroad (Blaze, Danny Krivit, Daniel Wang, Joe Claussell, Laurent Garnier, etc.). Since 2002, DJ Ban began to create the monthly house music mix CDs entitled “Groove Jetâ€, which gained popularity as the only house music monthly mix in Japan. Another mix CD series “Season†also got a favorable reception.
DJ Ban started his producer career from 2007, forming a unit “Nix†with Chizuru Ohmae (A Hundred Birds) and Minori Kimura. He provided the original track “SYK-A†in the album “4 Season Compilationâ€, which contains the tracks by Daniel Wang and Bassed On Kyoto. DJ Ban also provided the remix in Nabowa’s debut EP, released on October 2007.
DJ Ban mainly plays in the party “Aftermath†with DJ 拓馬, and his monthly party “Fantasia†at club Metro in Kyoto.
