Profile GeneratorFrom the moment the first note rang out on 18 year-old guitarist JJ's guitar and Skull Spark ripped into their first song, a whirlwind of hair, leather and leopard-skin print, the audience was for a moment transported back to Sunset Strip circa 1986. But no, this was really happening here and now – a new rock'n'roll band is in town, and others should watch out – these boys mean business. With Bam pounding away on drums and Nikki Sixx lookalike bassist Lizzie providing a strong rhythm section, Skull Spark assaulted the crowd with an impressive set of songs, several of which feature on their demo. Swedish singer Alvin effortlessly mastered the stage, looking like he'd been doing this for years, despite being just 19. Completing the line-up was guitarist Spider, also clearly aware that the expression 'rock show' is made up of two equally important words. This band have all the ingredients for a promising future – image, attitude, poignant lyrics and catchy riffs – and in a music world that is currently saturated with dull, shoe-gazing indie bands, Skull Spark provide a welcome breath of fresh air for those who like their rock'n'roll the way it should be: raw, whiskey-soaked, and bursting with passion.Written by Roso Rebel
