HELLOISE started in 1984, when Ernst van Ee and Ben Blaauw left Highway Chile after differences of opinion. They found in Stan Verbraak (ex-Zebra) a great singer and Arjan Boogerds and Marchell Remeeus were respective the new guitarist and bassguitarist(both ex-Lemming). After a year they were the only hardrockband to get in the semi-finals of 'De Grote Prijs van Nederland'. By that the band got signed at WEA. The recordings for their first album COSMOGONY were conducted by producer John Sonneveld (also produced Normaal and later also Vengeance, Sleeze Beez, Valensia, Golden Earring). With guest-appearance on this album from Robert-Jan Stips (keyboards) known from Supersister, Golden Earring & The Nits and Ron Bird (radiovoice).
1986 was the year the second album POLARITY was released after a short period for writing new material. It had the same producer as the first album, John Sonneveld. Guest-appearance on keyboards was made by him either. Some critics said this album had a more adult sound comparing to COSMOGONY, others said HELLOISE couldnt make the big expectations true, but they're only critics. The band had succes and got nominated for the 'BV Popprijs'. They co-operate with the 'Nederlandse artiesten voor Afrika-project' and performed with The Star Sisters in the Dutch TV-program 'Los vast kuipspektakel'.
In the years 1988-1995 it became quiet. While Stan, Arjan and Marchell were taking a musical break, Ernst and Ben continued in the business. Ernst played drums with several musicians and bands (Peter Magnee, Tamas Szekeres, Vengeance, Misha Calvin, Ian Parry). He also joined another band: Threnody. Ben took jazzclasses and found out he actually didn't like jazz at all. He joined the band Bertus Borgers & the Groove. He left the band in 1993. He formed Big Bucks & Easy Money and K'bam together with Anton Arema.
After years of silence Pseudonym released 2 albums on 1 cd. Helloise went on tour again and deicided to work on new material for the third album: A TIME AND A PLACE(1998). It was produced by Oscar Holleman (Anthony, Ayreon, Undeclinable Ambuscade and many more). This album contained guest-appearance again, this time by the well-known Arjen Lucassen (guitars) and René Merkelbach (keyboards), known from Gorefest and Vals Licht.
In 2000 Ernst released a solo album with the vocals of Stan on 2 songs, 'Sixteens' and 'The story never ends' and backing vocals on 'Spaceman'. Ernst also replaced Andre Borgman in Blind Justice.
Finally in 2001 HELLOISE released a fourth album: FATA MORGANA. On this album the band decreased to 3 members; Stan, Ben and Ernst. It was produced by Helloise and co-produced by Hans Pieters (After Forever). This album contains the great Barry Ryan cover 'Eloise'. Again guest-appearances, this time by Robby Valentine (keyboards), Lana Lane (vocals) and Sascha Paeth (keyboards).
Ernst left Blind Justice to reunite Highway Chile in 2002. After a year Stan replaced Robert Soeterboek for vocals.
In 2003 Ernst joined Lana Lane and Erik Norlander.
THE FUTURE: Helloise have plans to release a cd/dvd-box in beginning 2007! And there's going to be a tour.
