ALBUMS :
BRING OUT YOUR DEAD (2007) is Area 54's final and album. It Consists of eleven tracks. It's a slow burner, and has become our favourite over time! Get some balls.
BECKONING OF THE END (2003)The follow up to debut album 'No Visible Scars', this album has 10 tracks, full of guitar harmonies, solos, and an amazing guest appearance by ex-
AT THE GATES frontman, Tomas Lindberg. This album has more of an old-school feel than 'Bring Out Your Dead', and was compared to
IRON MAIDEN &
MEGADETH a lot, but there's more to this album than that. It also includes the full video for 'Living A Lie' as was seen on REDEMPTION TV back in the day.
NO VISIBLE SCARS (2000) , Area 54's debut, has ten tracks, coming from a more simple structure than the later albums, you can hear that we were young, and much like the first
METALLICA album, it's production is raw. Guest vocals by The
GOREROTTED singers on one track too!
LIMITED EDITION DEMOS
A FISTFUL OF GRAVY (2005) . A Two track demo of 'My Hate' and 'Losing Grip' that were later re-recorded for the final album 'Bring Out Your Dead'. Only 500 were made, and we don't have many left. Everyone asks why it has that title, so before you ask, here's why...Lakis was cooking a microwave gravy type meal in our engineers studio, and being ever so slightly clumsy, as he was taking it out, he managed to throw it everywhere because to his surprise, it was fucking hotter than a fat bitch sitting on an erupting volcano on a hot summers day. Our engineer now cooks everything for me and serves it on a nice plate. He also likes Lakis less :)
FEAR INSIDE (1998)
Recorded in 1997 with the very original, but fairly unknown line-up,
This very rare, hard to find demo cd marks the very start of the band. It has six tracks on it, and two of them were never re-recorded for any of the albums. We actually prefer some of these demos to the album versions, but judge for yourself! Lakis met Laura while recording this, and got her to play Cello on one track, it was later that she joined the band as bassist. It has Rachel Tomas (who later played piano, and co-wrote a track on 'Beckoning of the End') playing violin on it. As well as myself playing guitar, it has Jeremy Gray (ex-
GOREROTTED/INFESTATION ), but the coolest thing for me, is that it has Mr. Dan Foord of
SIKTH on drums - a fucking great drummer!
There are only 499 in existence, and we didn't think there were any left until Lakis moved house, and found a cheeky box with a few copies in.
We're happy to let go of the few copies we have left. If you want to get your hands on a copy, send us a message.
OTHER
KILL YOUR MANAGENENT - Vol. 3 (2002) This metal compilation disc, again, is something Lakis recently discovered that he still had a few of. This is the only time that the demo version of 'Living A Lie' was released, so it's not available anywhere else. There are nineteen other tracks on here from various artists!
Influences: Area 54 were extremely diverse - We got comapred to Iron Maiden, Megadeth, At the Gates, Guns n' Roses, Bullet For My Valentine, Trivium, Anathema and lots of others, so just judge for yourself who we sound like and who you think our influences were!
Sounds Like: One or two mentioned here might not be 100% true - see if you can spot them : Soil, Trivium, At The Gates, Killswitch Engage, Bullet For My Valentine, Avenged Sevenfold, Megadeth, Death, Cradle of Filth, Chaka Demus & Pliers, Iron Maiden,Anathema, Guns N' Roses, Pantera, Gordian Knot, The Haunted, In Flames - put in a blender!
