I take no responsibility for moments of insanity. Please note, my myspace page is exactly that...MINE. And it has nothing to do with the APSFA, other than being on the friends list. So, if you don't like cursing, griping, whining, bad jokes, etcetera, do not visit my page. I am NOT professional on my myspace page. I am not a president here. I am not a volunteer here. I am just me. I will promote the foundation on my page, but all of the board of directors and volunteer staff have a right to a personal life and free speech. Please do not associate our personal myspace pages with this foundation webpage and forum, or at least not mine. Thanks.

I like Moonlight walks, cuddling up in front of a warm fire on a cold night, I love to fly, snow ski when my ankle and knee says it is ok (which hasn't been lately grrr), relax, boat, fish, snorkel, camping in a camper (too old for the tent thing anymore LOL but still build a camp fire), travel, read, go out for dinner (I can't cook!), and talk about life and dreams.
The next place I want to travel is to Sweden or Australia; actually anywhere it is warmer than Wisconsin or that my money will take me, which isn't far lately. My favorite spot on the planet that I have actually been to is Tampa/Clearwater, FL, Seattle/Whidbey Island, WA and Las Vegas, NV. Favorite spot I would like to see would be Aussie and snorkel on the Great Barrier Reef.
My worst vacation story is my trip to Detroit. I got caught in the Storm of the Century on Amtrak. The whole trip was a mess from the get go and the person I went to meet turned out to be a real jerk. At least I wasn't stuck on the tarmac at Detroit in an airplane but the train did smell like an outhouse. I can still smell the smell.
I love to surf the net and chat. I am not in many chat rooms anymore. People get too weird in there. Sometimes you will find me playing cards - cribbage - on here too. http://www.zone.com/default.asp
I have been doing a great deal of research on APS and have now started a non-profit, Public Charity, organization called APS Foundation of America, Inc. Antiphospholipid Antibody Syndrome (APS), which is associated with recurrent clotting events (thrombosis) including premature stroke, repeated miscarriages, phlebitis, venous thrombosis (clot in the vein) and pulmonary thromboembolism (blockage of an artery found in the lung due to a clot that has traveled from a vein). It is also associated with low platelet or blood elements that prevent bleeding. Recently, however, even more disease states have been linked with APS including premature heart attack, migraine headaches, various cardiac valvular abnormalities, skin lesions, diseases that mimic multiple sclerosis, vascular diseases of the eye that can lead to visual loss and blindness. If you want to read more about it go to http://www.apsfa.org.
I enjoy talking with others who are going through the same thing as I am because no one really wants to hear or understand what I am going through. (Yes, that means I have APS.) I am trying to get the word out about this autoimmune disease that probably affects more people than we know. You can post any question you may have at: http://www.apsforum.com.
Other than that I just read my email, write a lot of grants and get off line. (Ok, so what can I say I lead a boring life!!)

Some of my favorite musicians/albums... too many to choose from, but big time one's are the 80's stuff, like Def Leppard, REO Speedwagon, The Eagles, Chicago, the Top Gun Soundtrack, Phil Collins, Areosmith, Foreigner, Jimmy Buffett, Journey, AC/DC. So what can I say I am stuck there. I listen to Top 40's and hard rock but don't ask me the name of the song or who sings it. (I would make a terrible DJ.)
Back Draft, Top Gun, Dying Young, Sweet November, The Guardian.
ER, Grey's Anatomy, CSI, Survivor, Law and Order, LOST, Lisa Williams: Life Among the Dead, John Edwards, Ghost Whispher
Patricia Cornwell, Robin Cook, Micheal Palmer, First for Women, Self, NEJM, The Lancet, BJM, JAMA
Contact Tables
too many to list.
