Let's see...I'm a 31 year old female who is "living w/Lupus". I've been in the southwest suburbs of Chicago my whole life, currently residing in Lansing. I'm adopted into a mixed family and raised Christian Reformed and like it that way. I've only ever known how NOT to be prejudice against races, my parents are white, I'm Arabian/Italian/possibly mexican, my older brother is black and my sister is black/white. We're all unique and I love them all, they are very important to me and so is my faith. I'm very laid back but I won't stand for racist remarks around me, I don't care WHO you are. I'm happily married to my high school sweetheart, we were married once, got divorced and are married again, such a soap opera! I'm a mom of one 11 year old son named Tony, a fat tabby cat named Crazy and 2 dogs. I entered my Foxxy in a contest recently and she won Best Female Shiba Inu 2007! She's so pretty :) Foxxy is a gorgeous black & tan Shiba Inu and Rocco is a brindle beagle/boxer mix. My hubby and I are suckers for animals, we are constantly going to "look" at puppies even though we know I can't handle more than the 2 we have. We are animal planet junkies! Can't stand to hear of any kind of animal abuse or neglect, makes me wanna wring those peoples necks!!! Unfortunately, my life changed quite a bit in 1997 when I was diagnosed with Lupus. Lupus is an chronic auto-immune disease that has disabled me at too young of an age. Lupus brings on a lot of secondary problems for me such as arthritis, depression, acid reflux, anemia, antiphospholid syndrome, fibromyalgia, headaches, hair loss, severe fatigue etc. The steroids used to treat my lupus have also given me less than desired side effects which include weight gain, moon face, buffalo's hump, cataracts in both eyes and now a 70% fatty liver! I spend a lot of time trying to raise awareness of this disease as well as being the team captain of "THE WOLFPACK" for the third year in a row at the Life Without Lupus Walk in Illinois!TO LEARN MORE ABOUT LUPUS, HERE'S A Link to the Lupus Research Institue : Lupus Research Institute - Letting Science Lead the Way to a Cure or LUPUS FOUNDATION OF AMERICA AT http://www.lupus.orgTaking A Bite Out Of Lupus, One Step At A Time!
