James "Judah" Hatcher

About Me

I recorded this project at a time in my life when both my marriage and my ministry were under attack. There we so many times during the process that I wanted to quit and would have felt justified doing so. But by the Grace of God I was able to continue. This project may not be the best that you have ever heard, But I have given God and you my best. Critique if you must, however it is my prayer that you will allow this cd to minister to you just as it has ministered to me.
James"Judah" Hatcher is a multi-gifted man of God; but most of all his true passion is ministering through music. And minister he does. James' music ministers to the part of each individual that yearns for wholeness and right standing with God. Not only has James been equipped by God with a voice that is able to destroy yokes and break bondages in Jesus name but he has been anointed to keep it real in order to reach those who have fallen in Christ . Examples of such realness can be heard on tracks like Heal Me, Ill Continue, & Use Me. On this anointed album James has creatively used worship, love ballads, rhythm& praise, reggae, and contemporary gospel to offer a most transparent look at real life circumstances while acknowledging that Christ is the true remedy to all of our struggles.
Born and raised in Baltimore MD, James began singing as a young child and learned how to pick out melodies from songs on a wrinkie-dink keyboard that would only allow him to play one note at a time. Although unable to afford a real keyboard, James was determined to keep his vision of music artistry alive by writing and using a tape recorder to record songs throughout out his teenage years. His peers soon noticed his passion for music and he was voted most musically talented during his senior year of high school. This same passion carried over to college and afforded James the opportunity to sing in choirs behind gospel music greats like Ronald Winans, Twinkie Clark, and Keith Pringle(under the direction of John Tillery at Columbia Union College). During this period, James also had the privilege of singing in two local groups "Positive Threat" and "Ntencity". After exhausting all funds for college James enlisted in the United States Marine Corps and served his country well until being honorably discharged in 1997.
All of these experiences have provided great insight and served as excellent building blocks which James recalls upon as he goes about his ministry now. His music and preaching has been instrumental in reaching across generations and cultures with the positive message of hope and redemption that the whole world needs to hear.
James is currently an ordained Deacon and Licensed Minister after successfully completing three years of ministry training at Kingdom School of Ministry; Bishop Ralph L. Dennis presiding prelate. This experience has prepared James for the multiplicity of roles he currently has. James has served as co-youth pastor, and one of the praise and worship leaders at New Destiny Evangelistic Ministries where Allen and Sylvia Bryant are the pastors. James is also the President of OfJudah Publishing, Great Things Photography and Proclaiming Christ Productions.I edited my profile with Thomas' Myspace Editor V4.4
