About Me

The Box Tops: The Letter

Add to My Profile | More VideosHey! I'm Gary Talley, original (and current)guitarist for the Box Tops from Memphis. Our big hits in the 60's were "The Letter" , "Cry Like A Baby" and "Soul Deep". We got back together in 1997, recorded "Tear Off" live in the studio and still do occasional gigs. for lots more info see: WWW.BOXTOPS.COMI live outside of Nashville where I do sessions, gigs, and teach guitar. I'm currently working on an instrumental CD featuring some of the exact same notes that the big stars use !! My instructional DVD "GUITAR PLAYING FOR SONGWRITERS" is available on my website *www.garytalley.com* My friend and co-writer Richard Fleming and I have a duo called "Memphinati". (That's 'cause he's from Cincinnati and I'm from Egypt). We've got a CD called "The Beat of Love" out on Appaloosa Records...........People tell me I might possibly be THE WORLD'S GREATEST GUITAR TEACHER (next to Esteban)..I'm not positive about that, though...hard to tell... One time I taught 2 cows how to play guitar and THEY AIN'T EVEN GOT FINGERS!!! I have a large dog named Bob. He's in Wyoming now on vacation.
