My first Musical infuences were my Singers/musicians Mom and Dad, My Mom had classical traing in Voice and piano and is a Conservatory graduate. I told my mom at an early age of 9 ,after coming from a classical Concert ,that I wanted to be a Concert Singer. Her words to me "if they can do it You can do it"I was very impressed with the live performances of Opera Divas, Leontyne Price, Grace Bumbry,Shirley Verett, Barbara hendricks ,Kathleen Battle and Jessye Norman.My Parents took me many times to the Apollo Theater ,at home in New York, where I heard Gladys Knight and the Pips, Stevie Wonder,The Temptations, Sam Cooke,Mary Wells,And many other great Motown Artists!My Parents had all types of good music in our Home Artists as well, because my mom was a well known cosmotologist at the time , with the first Real Hairweaves!!We sisters love to change our Hairstyles!!!well anyway . I am very influenced and moved by the music of ,Aretha Franklin,Patti Labelle,Diana Ross,Gloria Gaynor,Dionne Warrick, Whitney Houston ,Their Concert programs are still full today, which tells me that great Music lives on forever. My favourite Jazz Divas, Ella Fitzgerald,Nina Simone,Sarah Vaughn ,Nancy Wilson Shirley Bassey,,Leslie Uggams,and Linda Sharrock.object width="425" height="350"I was also influenced by my fine Artists/teachers.I am now very motivated ,not only influenced, by "My space too now ,for the great new Artists Music which I hear , and think its wonderful the invites to friendship/fan clubs and moral support! One also learns a lot ! and makes wonderful networking .My Space is our space!Fantastic!center
