Hailing from Brooklyn, new york, is percussionist, electronic musician, producer, musical collaborator, and solo artist; Jimmy Lopez. Born of a highly energetic and creative spirit, he is considered the percussionist of choice for many artist (acoustically & electronically). His global ethnic explorations as well as his diversified technological skills, make him a very creative musician. His electronic percussion is showcased on instruments such as the Roland HandSonic, (possibly the first percussionist to collaborate with dj's and laptopist's with this instrument), the Korg Wave Drum, the Korg Kaoss pads, guitar effect processors, live loopstation, and the Alesis Air Synthesizer. (all combined together to create a unique use of loops , electronics, samplers, that on stage he builds a unique and innovative sound by mixing all this technological equipment with his own live percussion).Jimmy's sounds have echoed at the majority of Manhattan's A-list clubs, concert halls, straight up party places, and cafe's. Bringing his energetic beats to venues such as Pacha, Sol, Duvet, Jazz at Lincoln Center, Quo, Marquee, Crobar, Room Service, Lotus, PM, Azza, Cielo, Arena, Sullivan Room, Cafe Wha? Botanica, C.B.G.B's, Nublu, Pier 63(Turntables On The Hudson), and many more. He is the resident percussionist for the highly elite Frenchtuesdays, Celebrity Hot spot Marquee, and the Dj/Percussion Collaboration parties, and was formally the four year resident percussionist at Le Souk(NYC), And formally the resident percussionist for the afrokinetic, Break For Love, And Six Degrees parties. Currently Jimmy is a member of the Jessi Colasante band, Boom Box Repair Kit, And the leader of his own musical group " The Other Others".
